My Review of Holtz BMW:
Friendly service without question, but I need to double check that they actually looked at all of the issues my 2004 X3 was brought in for. I have had to make repeated trips back to get items repaired even though they were "fixed" at the time of service. I have had to bring the service manager out numerous times before even leaving the lot after a repair to show him that the problem exists just as described in the original service request form filled out on arrival. There are others in the family who have had the same experience many times. I also have had friends that refuse to return to Holtz and have gone out of the way to purchas new BMWs through other dealers

My Review of Holtz BMW:
Everyone with whom I interacted, treated my family, my auto, and I with respect and sensitive consideration. My concerns were promptly and accurately addressed to my satisfaction, the first time matters were brought to the attention of the sales and service staff. I am very pleased with my auto. Thank you Mr. Holtze.

Respectfully,
John N. Mahinis, Ph.D., MBA

My Review of Holtz BMW:
Dealer has the least bit of interest in the car owner. The dealer represents BMW without question. Service usually need two to three visits before the problem is corrected. Example: Complained about front end noise at 48,000 miles while my X5 was still in warranty, the service department could not find the problem. Took the vehicle back for other service at 58,000 miles complained again about the front end noise, was charged $ 48.00 and told there was no problem. Drove across the parking lot with the front end sounding like a dump truck full of rocks. Went back and got the service manager and took him for a ride, he had just driven the car an hour or so before. The car went back in for service the following week at which time they replaced the right stabilizer link ( in warranty as thet knew I was Mad). This happen in December. Less than 6 weeks later the rattle re-appeared ( less than 3300 miles later ) this time it was the left stabilizer link. You would have thought they would have looked at it back in December. " They do not fix anything unless it is broken" I was told. I wonder whom they represent? It took them 33,000 miles to fix auto seat and mirrors. They fixed three of the car door locks, but because I did not complain specifically about the driver door, it was not fixed. The problem was a common in warranty problem that should have been fixed. Replaced the belt tensioner twice in less than 6 months.

My Review of Holtz BMW:
Took the car in for simple repairs. This was the third visit for at least two of the items. They couldn't replicate, so did nothing about them; even though they think they know what is causing one of the problems.<br><br>It takes 3 or more weeks to get a loaner, even when the issue was that they had to order parts to complete the repair.<br><br>They missed some major suspension issues, which my other mechanic found immediately when just replacing the tires.<br><br>They're so bad that I'm turning my BMW in a year early and will not buy or have a car serviced by any of their franchises.<br><br>Looks like I'll be heading to Dorschel or out of town for my replacement.

My Review of Holtz BMW:
There aren't too many choices in the Rochester area. They are okay. The service department is somewhat questionable in their skill and talent, but with the addition of Steve Lester there last year, things seem a little better. I've bought an M3 and a 740iL from the dealership and had them serviced there. They tend to charge for trivial things like key fob programming changes which other dealers I've dealt with in the past have never done. They took 6 visits over a month to diagnose a cat converter problem in my 740 which my local race shop mechanic identified in 5 minutes. They don't seem to be familiar with a lot of factory TSB's and issues; I tend to have to sometimes research my own problems and brief them for quick resolution. Theyir unbundling and fragmentization of their sales, service, and parts departments creates for a less than ideal total ownership experience.

My Review of Holtz BMW:
I have been going to Holtz for my 95 M3 since I purchased it and have never had a problem with them. They even let me test drive an '02 M3 and I am only 18! I enjoy the sales person I always speak with (can't remember her name) and have my whole family going back now to buy from them. In the land of BMW dealers, I have found they are the best (where as the other guy liked Towne, I have had nothing but trouble with towne, guess its all a matter of perspective)

My Review of Holtz BMW:
John Holtz BMW is quite possibly the worst dealership I've had to deal with to date. Long story short, I was discriminated against because of my age when I went to purchase my '01 330i. I have had great dealings with the service department, they've always treated me well and done 99% of their work properly and in a timely fashion, but the sales group here at this dealership is nothing short of terrible. To give you an idea:<br><br>1) I waited 25 minutes before I finally had to ask to get a sales person, and then waited another 15<br>2) I wasn't allowed to test drive a car on my own<br>3) I was talked down to<br>4) I had an order and a deposit in, and I took it away along with my business and gladly handed it over to Towne BMW in Buffalo<br><br>For the full story, check out these links:<br><br>Part 1:<br>http://bimmer.roadfly.org/3series/messages/archive/msgsy2001w21/27514.html<br><br>Part 2:<br>http://bimmer.roadfly.org/3series/messages/archive/msgsy2001w29/87893.html<br><br>Also note that these ratings accurately reflect the sales group only. The service department I would gladly give 4's and 5's to. <br><br>I attempted to rectify the situation with Mr. Holtz himself, and he promised to handle the situation appropriately, but after that I never heard from him again. I personally gave him my phone number. Great way to support a would-be customer! I've turned so many people to Towne BMW as soon as they even mention the word "Holtz" it's not even funny. I highly discourage purchasing from these people.
