My Review Of Hyundai Inland Empire:
After my mom was rear ended before New Year's Eve and her car was totaled she wanted to go look at a Hyundai dealership. I accompanied her to a Romero Hyundai and was impressed not only with the prices, but the quality and warranty of the vehicles along with the "non-vulture" like personalities of the sales people. I had been looking at and pricing vehicles in a specific price range for about six months and was determined to have a new vehicle before September of this year. Our minivan was almost eight years old and I knew before long I would have to purchase a new vehicle. After visiting Romero with my mom (she bought a Sonata), I decided to look more into the Hyundai vehicle selections.
The Elantra Limited was in my price range and with the warranty, you can't beat it. I needed a reliable vehicle that would last a long time, got great gas mileage, was safe and wouldn't raise my insurance rate. I chose Hyundai I.E. not only because of location, but because of the service I received before even setting foot on the lot and test driving a vehicle. I emailed Art and told him exactly what vehicle I was interested in (model, make, color and interior) and what price range I could afford. I didn't think I would qualify for a loan after a nasty divorce over two years ago in which my ex-husband tried to leave me in financial ruin and all I had was an older model minivan as a trade in.
Art took the time to talk to me, listen to my concerns, said he could get me qualified for a loan, and he would give me a fair amount for my trade-in. I told him I wouldn't go down to the dealership until I was approved for a loan and if it was not what I could afford, then I was out. Less than a half-hour later he called me and told me the interest rate and how much the monthly payments would be for the exact vehicle I was interested in. I couldn't believe it.
Two hours later I was at the dealership and test drove an Elantra Limited for the first time. It was perfect in style, comfort, gas mileage, features and price. Everything was perfect except the color which was the only drawback. However Art had set up a delivery of a red one when I called to tell him I was on my way down to the dealership. He surprised with this information after the test drive because he knew I was going to buy the car.
I'm a single mother of two children whose 11 year old son has high-functioning Autism. In addition I work full-time for social services, just graduated college with a BA in January and start graduate school in May. I have worked hard to reach my career and educational goals with still a ways to go for both so having a safe, reliable and affordable vehicle for my family is important to me especially when my daughter will be driving in the next couple of years (she is 14).
I didn't have to get the Limited since it was a little bit more money, although I like the sun/moon roof, black leather interior, power driver's seat, blue tooth connection and satellite radio. I wanted it because of the blue tooth capability (safety and daughter will be driving soon ) and for my son's medical needs.
I told Art my son was Autistic, but I didn't tell him that he also has sensory processing disorder (SPD) and because of it his body doesn't always regulate his temperature normally (it can be 90 degrees and he will be cold and shivering). I needed the heated seats for my son. With the Elantra Limited, he doesn't have to cart around a blanket, two sweatshirts and a jacket nor do I have to have the heater on in the car at all times. If he is cold, he brings a sweatshirt and just turns the seat heater on for a few minutes (no more than ten) and he is fine even when the air conditioner is on low or the sun/moon roof is open (the extra clothing and blanket can go in the trunk). The heated seats make it a safer ride for my son because the seat belt can fit him more properly without multiple thick layers of clothing.
When I came home after purchasing our car, my son cried. He climbed into the front seat and just sobbed. He couldn't believe that I bought us a new vehicle and bought one with heated seats just for him. My daughter on the other hand couldn't wait to get her phone hooked up and choose her satellite radio stations.
