My Review of Imports by Day (aka Day Audi & Day Chevrolet):
After calling all the VW dealers in Western Pa. I found a grey 2006 Jetta TDI on order at Day Audi VW Monroeville, PA 15146. The salesman stated the vehicle was coming in within a month but I could put a deposit over the phone to hold it. After telling him I would be in he assured me the vehicle would be sold if I did not give him a deposit over the phone. On 7/22/06 I visited Day VW to put a deposit on a 2006 Jetta TDI. The Jetta did not have a deposit on it as the salesman stated it would.

I did my homework and built the Jetta several times on the VW website with the cost as 25095.00 with package 1, Auto trans., upgraded floor/trunk mats. I had spoken to several dealers on the East Coast and they quoted the same price.
I know this vehicle is in great demand and was fully prepared to pay the sticker price. The salesman brought back a figure well over 26000 for the same vehicle written on a piece of paper. I asked how they arrived at the figure and to show me a printout. They stated this was the cost of the vehicle. I proceeded to put out my notes with the cost of 4 other dealers for 25095. They told me I had the wrong or old figures.
Old figures on the VW Corp. website?? I just called several dealers’ hours before in the W/Pa- Cleveland- Wash. D.C area and they were using the same numbers I had. Day Monroeville stated the profit is so small on a diesel they have to add the profit onto the ending price.??? Again the salesman went to see the sales manager. Instead of them attempting to make the sale they came back with a printed out search and told me only one other Grey Jetta TDI was known to exist in Cleveland.
After debating back and forth I told my salesman I'm going to wait until 2008 for the new TDI's. The sales manager then figured out how much gas money I would lose by keeping my large SUV for an extra year.
I KNOW THAT'S WHY I'M BUYING A JETTA TDI. THAT'S WHY I'M AT YOUR DEALERSHIP. Stop telling me how much gas I'm using.

Just tell me about supply/demand on the Jetta TDI. Don’t make up stories about low profit and how much gas I‘m going to use. Just tell me, we can sell this car at this price because of such a high demand. No need to waste a Saturday listening to stories. I will not set foot in Day Monroeville ever again.

The following week I drove to Ellacott Shaker VW (outside Cleveland, Ohio) and bought a new 2006 Jetta TDI with everything but the upgraded floor mats for 24910.00, the price quoted on the VW website. IMAGINE THAT!!!! I recommend the dealership and Paul M., Sales, to anyone.

My Review of Imports by Day (aka Day Audi & Day Chevrolet):
I purchased a 2004 VW Beetle on 1/17/2004 from Imports By Day. Since then I have had four documented service visits to try and have the problem repaired. In addition, I have had a few additonal problems like broken window, broken rear power input, malfunctioning window sprayer, etc. I also had my car hood and bumper replaced and painted after an accident in October 2004. In February 2004, the paint began to chip. I returned to the dealer and they agreed to repaint the car. The second paint job was substandard, with spots they forgot to paint, drip marks on the bumper, etc. I took it back a third time for the paint and the malfuctioning window, they said it would take a few days, but had the car for almost two weeks!

Throughout the experience, the dealer general manager, Dave Stuart, service manager, assistant service manager and body shop manager have been incredibily rude and disrespectful, treating me as if the issues were entirely my fault. I never been treated to badly in my life!

I would recommend purchasing from another VW dealer in Western PA.
