Deirdre, we are certainly disappointed to read about your experience. An apology will regrettably not alter the outcome, but we are very sorry for your experience. We're happy to see that Michael Armstrong was able to jump in and make things better for you.

What an excellent description of your experience with our General Manager, Michael Armstrong. Thank you for taking the time to post this. We're always delighted to hear someone describe the pleasant sales experience they had, especially when they mention one of our team members. It's terrific to hear Michael provided that type of an experience. Thanks for recognizing his help. We wish you many, many happy miles in your new vehicle. Enjoy Your Ride!

Devon, we looked into this since your experience is far from the way we conduct business at any John Kennedy Dealership and because of your accusation of our Sales Manager of lying. You and Amanda came to our dealership looking for the best price on a Mazda CX-5 Touring. You compared an offer you had on a Touring model from another Mazda dealership. We did not have a Touring model, so we asked if you would consider the more expensive Grand Touring model. You agreed to see that price. There is a miscommunication somewhere because the initial pricing workup shows a purchase price that was $800 under invoice plus all charges, including taxes and fees. He did give you your “out the door” price that you asked for. Based on your demeanor, you and your girlfriend left happy with that offer and told us you’d be back. When the both of you came back to finalize the purchase, you sat down with our Finance Manager, Rob McCoy, to purchase the CX-5 Grand Touring. You agreed to add some aftermarket products, which increased the final price. While Rob was in the final stages of getting the financial documents in order, you received texts from the other Mazda dealership that offered you a price for $1600 under invoice. At this point, you halted the deal and stated our price was not at the price you originally agreed on, even though you were approving everything minutes earlier. That is when Michael Armstrong entered the Business Office to discuss why you stopped the purchase. He explained that he could not offer $1600 under invoice and doubted that a dealership could make that kind of offer. We’re confused about how you came to a difference of $5500, though. Based on our records, that is not the case. After speaking with numerous employees, we can’t confirm your claim of Michael raising his voice or having his mask off. He typically has a loud speaking voice, but nobody said he handled your conversation disrespectfully. We also find it hard to believe he took his mask off, knowing he is immunocompromised and adamant about wearing his mask around customers since he has a strong incentive to protect himself. As we mentioned above, we do not conduct business in the manner you implied in your review. These experiences usually arise from misunderstandings or miscommunication. We’re sorry that we could not help you, and we’re happy you found a place to buy your CX-5. Amanda will come to love that vehicle.

*Please see my reply to your comments below. I have added comments after your paragraphs.* Devon, we looked into this since your experience is far from the way we conduct business at any John Kennedy Dealership and because of your accusation of our Sales Manager of lying. You and Amanda came to our dealership looking for the best price on a Mazda CX-5 Touring. You compared an offer you had on a Touring model from another Mazda dealership. We did not have a Touring model, so we asked if you would consider the more expensive Grand Touring model. You agreed to see that price. -Correct There is a miscommunication somewhere because the initial pricing workup shows a purchase price that was $800 under invoice plus all charges, including taxes and fees. He did give you your “out the door” price that you asked for. Based on your demeanor, you and your girlfriend left happy with that offer and told us you’d be back. - Correct, that is what we were told. This number was $31,424 When the both of you came back to finalize the purchase, you sat down with our Finance Manager, Rob McCoy, to purchase the CX-5 Grand Touring. - We agreed on 1 which was a bundle and around $1,100 or something (I might not be recalling correctly). So, we are looking at $32,500 - As for me texting, this is blatantly incorrect. I was not texting the other dealer. I had a quote from December 7th. This is the same quote I forwarded to Michael upon request and the same quote we used to purchase our car. Whoever said we halted the deal because we were offered a better deal in the moment was lying (ask Michael for the invoice, he has the email). If we got a text for a better deal we wanted, we would have just said that and left, not make up some story about the price being off. - On the last page before signing, the number we saw was $37,000. That is $4,500 difference than the price we were expecting (I looked at the $1,000 off and not the 0.9% apr price yesterday which is why I said $5,500, my bad). Please explain to me where this money went. Michael said taxes and fees which should be no more than $2,500 (and should have been included when I requested the out the door price). There is still $2,000 which I cannot find. After speaking with numerous employees, we can’t confirm your claim of Michael raising his voice or having his mask off. He typically has a loud speaking voice, but nobody said he handled your conversation disrespectfully. - That is a fair point and I understand that, but still believe he raised his voice at us. My girlfriend and I both found him being condescending and disrespectful. I also gave him a chance to message me alone and fix any wrong doings (before I posted this). He didn’t. Actions (or lack thereof) speak louder than words. We also find it hard to believe he took his mask off, knowing he is immunocompromised and adamant about wearing his mask around customers since he has a strong incentive to protect himself. - He took his mask off. That doesn’t endanger his life, it endangers my girlfriend and my life and is why I take such an offense to this action. As we mentioned above, we do not conduct business in the manner you implied in your review. These experiences usually arise from misunderstandings or miscommunication. We’re sorry that we could not help you, and we’re happy you found a place to buy your CX-5. Amanda will come to love that vehicle. - Thank you. If you would like to further discuss with me, I would be more than happy to. You have my email or can call my cell (both of which Michael has).
