We are sorry for the experience you had here at L&J Auto Sales. First and foremost no one ever told you to "get the fu*xx out". We simply do not operate like that. Secondly, Ive never had someone take a car to a pre sale inspection at the mechanic of their choice, purchase the car and come back two weeks later about gas hood supports and a lock actuator. While we try to sell the best cars we can, the car you purchased was a bargain lot car. I tell everyone they are only run through state inspection and if it does not have to do with state inspection its not looked at. They are less expensive cars that we make sure run, drive and are structurally sound. You in addition signed the bargain lot paper that is in ever window of every bargain lot car. Again we apologize for the experience you had with the hood/glass/deck lid gas supports and your lock actuators.

In response to the Monteith review, We take our reviews and business very seriously. We did not sell a vehicle to a sixteen year old, it was sold to Mr.Monteith for his son to drive. You are correct in stating the policies were clearly explained. The Monteiths did not purchase an extended service contract, and understood that after the time period that we provide at no charge, they would not have coverage. The service contract clearly states piston rings are covered had they opted to take it. Three months and over 700 miles later we are accused of being thieves and scammers; they clearly would not have bought a vehicle with a problem. We towed the vehicle and checked to see if there was something we could have missed for no charge, since pistons rings are something internal and not something you can inspect without disassembling the motor we go by compression checks, visible operation, and sound of the engine. Even though they did not take the service contract we did still try to help by doing a $3500 dollar repair, for our cost of $2000. It is unfortunate they had a problem with a vehicle they purchased from us. Not buying the service contract is a gamble and if you take a gamble and have an issue, I should not be liable. As with anything in life decisions are made and with them come some amount of risk, again they did not take the service contract. We feel that we have done our best to try to correct an issue. Even though we service our vehicles, unfortunately we cannot predict the future. We have hundreds of satisfied customers every year, and many families that have bought cars here for decades.
