My Review of Long Ford Sales Inc:
We purchased the truck using the friends and family plan provided to us by a very close friend. He turned in our information and had us listed as a friend under his retirement plan. He gave us a pin number that we were to use at the time of the sale. On the day we went to order we were asked for the pin number by the salesman and we provided it. We were never asked if we were friends or a family memeber of the retired Ford worker. We were quoted a price and agreed to it. We had the truck special ordered and were told it would take 6-8 weeks to get.
14 weeks later it came and had damage above the wheel well from transport. Long ford had the damage taken care of quickly and to our satisfaction. We went to the office to sign the paperwork, which was the price we originally agreed on and everyone signed their part. Two days after all papers were signed and the truck was home we get a call from Long Ford saying a mistake was made and we were quoted the discount for a family member not a friend. We had no idea there was a difference. We called the gentleman who povided us with the pin number and he assured us we were entered as friends not family and that Long Ford had made a mistake. They requested that we come back down and redo the contract in which we were to be charged an additional $920.00. We were reluctant and didn't agree right away because we paid the price quoted, waited an additional extra 6 weeks for the truck, and the truck was minorly damaged upon arrival. We then received a call from a finance manager from Long Ford who was rude and threatened us. He told us if we did not pay promptly that he would see that the retiree from Ford who provided us with the discount would have his benefit revoked. He also politely informed us that we should keep in mind "Ford owns that truck" The implication was that they could come and get it. The truck was aprox
$45,000 and we only financed aprox $15,000. We called the dealership to let them know we would be filing a complaint with Ford, which we did, and so far have not heard back from Long Ford. I understand that mistakes are made...we are all human. I don't understand after all of our patience waiting for the truck to come in and not complaining about the damage, and agreeing to pay the price quoted us why we are being asked to pay this additional money. If they would have called us about the mistake a week or two after we ordered the truck it may have been different, but after waiting 14 weeks which we feel was ample time to find a mistake in their contract and being treated rudely by the finance manager I really don't feel it is something we should be held accountable for.
