My Review of Long's Peak Hyundai:
i was offered a 2001 Jeep Cherokee at $6999.00. I retured an hour later to purchase and they told me that the price had gone up $1000 since i left.
8/13/2009 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Sales person: Jared Janke. GSM: William Bell. I went into the dealership at 1:30pm on 8/13/2009 to purchase a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport that was advertised online at $6998.00. I talked to Sales Person Jared Janke. I test drove the car and was ready to buy when he told me that the sale price on the Jeep was $7998.00. I told him that I saw the add online for $6998.00. He went and talked to his manager and said that he could do it for that price. I tried to haggle a little bit and then he said that he couldn't go any lower than $6998.00. I said okay and left to go pick up my girlfriend so that I had somebody to drive my other car home after i purchased the Jeep. When we got back an hour and a half later and said that we were ready to purchase they then went in their office and started arguing about whether or not to sell it to me at that price. They then sent some other sales rep out to tell me that they had already gotten a full price offer on the Jeep and that they couldn't sell it to me anymore. I told them that i didn't believe them and that i wanted to talk to a manger. That's when the GSM William Bell came out and told me that the price online was a misprint and that they had since put over $500 in upgrades and repairs into the Jeep and that the price was now $7998.00. He didn't say anything about another customer putting a deposit on the Jeep. I then asked him how $500 in upgrades would constitute a $1000 increase in price. He said that he would then sell it to me for $7499.00. I explained that we had a verbal agreement an hour before for %6998.00 and that was the price that I wanted to purchase the Jeep for. He said that he wouldn't do it. I then left. I have called corporate Hyundai's customer affairs number and filed a complaint with them. The GSM William Bell did call me today and explained that he had printed a retraction on that sale price and offered it to me again at the $7998.00. Both covering his tail and also further proving that they did not in fact have a deposit on the Jeep in the first place.
