Reason for Visit: Sales (New)

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Lorensen Toyota:
I tried an internet sales deal with Lorensen as tax season was fast approaching. All options were discussed. A substantial deposit was put down on a credit card. One week before delivery and the sales person emailed me that his boss was reviewing our deal and "realized" that the heated seats were not included in the price and it would cost an additional $550 to have them installed in the aftermarket! I returned the salesman's prior email wherein the heated seats were most certainly listed and included! Salesman's response was very slow in coming and would not do anything about the heated seat issue. after a week of emails, I cancelled the deal and requested that my deposit be returned. I also contacted the credit card company and started a dispute. It took and additional month to get my money back! Not a good situation at all!

Reason for Visit: Service

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Lorensen Toyota:
I would not recommend that anybody leave their car to Lorensen Toyota for service, I left mine with a tank of gas and about 13,810 miles and it came back with almost three quarters of the tank of gas gone and an mileage reading of 14,240. My car waS with them for the weekend and it was pretty odvious that someone took my car on a weekend trip or drove the equivelant of. I am not happy about this and will not leave my car with their service department ever again.

I would not have left my car and it was suppose to be done before the weekend and they told me it would not be finished until after the weekend because the part was delayed, the part was a light bulb that was on the dash so the car was left in perfect driving condition. It seems to me that someone had plans for my car for the weekend.

Be sure to check your mileage and mark your gas if you are ever going to leave your car with Lorenson. The funny thing is that their invoice is marked a day earler than I picked it up and it reads 90 miles less than the day before. The mileage it recorded then was already over what I left it at. Needless to say I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Lorensen Toyota:
Some things you should know: Never sign a blank contract. Check the coding for the package or options you are requesting and make sure it is listed correctly on the sales contract. Only sign a sales contract when everything you want is filled in and the bottom line price is complete. You do not have to pay for etching and you can do it yourself with a $30 kit. Cross it off of the contract. Conveyance fee is negotiable and not mandated by the state, no matter what they tell you. Check with CT attorney general's office for further info. Lorensen had the highest I ran into. The state does mandate that if there is a conveyance fee it must appear on the contract. It is preprinted along with the etching fee to make you think it is fixed. It's not. Make sure floor mats come with your car. You do not have to leave a deposit. In particular, do not leave a deposit while they are still searching for your car or to hold your price. Do your test drives and decide on the car you want, then negotiate by phone or email and ask for the "out the door" price including all hidden costs with a breakdown of each item. Once you have everything priced to your satisfaction, go to the dealership with your agreed upon prices and options. If the deal is different when you arrive, walk out.
