Reason for Visit: Sales
I recommend this dealer: No
My Review of Luxury Motors Inc.:
We were referred to this dealer by neighbors who had used them more than 5 years ago for their auto needs. When visiting their website you will see "We will deliver the most enjoyable auto buying experience you will ever have. Buying a new or used vehicle from Luxury Motors can save you thousands of dollars and many hours of your time. Most salespeople at dealerships are only interested in a one time sale and commission. At LUXURY MOTORS our goal is to find the right car at the right price and kept you as a loyal customer." Based on all this, we decided we would give it a try.
The experience test driving, getting the trade made with the old truck, and leaving with the new truck was good, although the truck was dusty and had not been cleaned when we picked it up, something I thought they would take pride in but I guess not. Anyway, little did we know the bad experience was just about to begin. We bought the new truck on 6/26; they had a 10-day payoff for the old loan, we expected it would have been paid by 7/6, plenty of time before the next payment on 7/20. After returning from a trip over 4th of July weekend, we found the loan was still not paid off (now 7/10), and now only 10 days until the next payment was due, which was setup as an automatic transfer from our checking account. We called Greg at Luxury Motors who assured us the check was sent in the mail and that our bank must have lost it. We called our CU and they track everything that happens in an account and they had no record of receiving a check or wire transfer to pay off the loan. Once again, called Greg back and he assured us it would be there in plenty of time. Well, it wasn't -- 7/20 came and the loan was not paid off and the payment was transferred out of our account to cover the payment. Greg "offered" to cut a check for that payment which he was required to do anyway since they were responsible for the loan payoff and they had the old truck in their possession since 6/26. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS 25 DAYS LATER WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF TIME TO MAIL A CHECK OR WIRE FUNDS. Upon calling Greg again, he explained to us that the check must have gotten lost in the mail and he would reissue another and FINALLY the loan was paid off 6 days later on July 31st. I'm sure they would look at this review and say that everything was taken care of in the end and they did the best job -- we don't think so and BUYER BE WARNED! YOU MAY HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE GETTING THE CAR DEAL BUT DEALING WITH THE FINANCES / PAYOFFS AFTER ARE TIME CONSUMING, A HASSLE AND THEY OVERSHADOW THE GOOD EXPERIENCE FROM THE "DEAL" BY FAR!!
We would have thought this as an isolated incident had we not referred my sister (before we had the loan payoff problems) and she had a similar and MUCH WORSE experience than us and I'm sure she will be adding her review soon. After her similar experience, we certainly question now whether or not they even had the funds to pay the loan off (much less money back on a trade in) because it shouldn't have taken that long - we've traded in numerous vehicles at many dealers and have never encountered a problem like this. We've NEVER had a car buying experience like this before and if this is what they are touting as "an enjoyable auto buying experience", WE DEFINATELY WON'T BE BACK!
SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND GO TO A DEALER WHERE THEY CAN DO THINGS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND HAVE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLES THEY ARE TAKING IN TRADE.
