I made an appointment with Matthews Hyundai to test drive a 2022 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid on December 27, 2022, When my wife and I arrived at Matthews, we were introduced to Carl and we test drove the Santa a 2022 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid on December 27, 2022, When my wife and I arrived at Matthews, we were introduced to Carl and we test drove the Santa Fe. I really liked the SUV, but I was looking for a 2023 with the Limited trim package. He checked with his manager and found out that the dealership would be receiving a 2023 Santa Fe PHEV Limited sometime during the next three months. However, it was so early in the process, that although the the vehicle was scheduled to be built, it hadn't even been assigned a VIN yet. Carl was exceptionally good at answering all of our many questions and when he didn't know an answer, he took the time to find it. We paid a deposit to hold the SUV for us when it arrived. On January 16th, I checked the Matthews website to learn if any 2023 Santa Fe PHEVs had been added to the inventory and I was surprised to see that a 2023 Santa Fe PHEV limited was listed, but it was "In transit". I called Carl and he said he would check on it. I was very pleased when he called us back to tell us that the one shown in the inventory was indeed, the car that we had placed a hold on and it was on a delivery truck sitting in the Matthews parking lot. We went into the Matthews dealership the next day and signed the paper work to purchase the car and arrange to trade in my 2012 Acura TSX. We went to Matthews Hyundai the next day and paid the balance due. Carl accompanied us on another test drive and provided a very thorough explanation of all the features of the Santa Fe PHEW limited. Since the day that we picked the car up, I have returned twice with questions and Carl has been great in answering all of them. Not only was Carl an excellent salesman, i felt he was our advocate.
