My Review of Mazda of Lakewood:
I leased a 2009 Mazda6 at this dealership. I arranged to pick up the car three weeks before arriving to do so. When I arrived, no one knew I was coming, the car had not been prepped, and I waited for almost four hours before driving away. During that four hours, I filled out paperwork and discovered that the mileage on the lease had been reduced from 15,000 per year to 10,000. I complained, and was told that a 15,000 mile deal didn't exist. After some time, they gave me the 15,000 miles. After driving away, I found that the keyless entry system was malfunctioning, so I had to take it back the next day to get that fixed. The battery had run down and the codes had reset -- something they didn't check in the prep.
After THAT, I got a notification that the dealership had screwed up the lease paperwork, so I had to arrange to sign new documents. The first set of documents they sent me had, AGAIN, reduced the mileage from 15,000 to 12,000 (I'm not kidding). I complained, and they gave me the 15,000 miles back.
The salesperson made a big deal out of a $500 gas rebate card they were offering, so I figured that into the total cost of the car. It turns out that the $500 card was a scam run by a fly-by-night company. Either the dealer knew this or didn't bother to check the company's credentials. Either way, I never got a penny back on gas and paid $10 to "register" for the rebate.
It's not all bad news. They were very apologetic about all the screw ups, and even reduced the lease cost somewhat after the second time they screwed up the monthly miles. But when I called to complain about the gas card, the general manager hung up on me, and I was NOT being abusive over the phone. Not even close.
Buy your automobile ANYWHERE else. Either they are dishonest or incompetent. I'm not sure which. But does it matter?
