My Review of McGrath Lexus Chicago:
Dealer sold my sister-in-law (in from Iowa) a used ES300. On closer inspection I discovered that the tires were missing the tread in a narrow band toward the outside. To me, it looked like the previous owner had run the tires grosly underinflated. When she came back in town, we took the car over late one night to have them look at it. Since service was gone for the day, they offered to pay for cab fare home. We lived out in the burbs, so they gave us a service loaner, insted (RX300). All was fine until the next day when I got the message that they thought the tires were fine. I took time off work to go over and "discuss it with the "service" person (coordinator, team leader? don't remember). He insisted that the tires were fine, pointing out that they had plenty of tread left (yeh, on 85% of the tire). After being insistant, they offered to replace the tires, still claiming they were fine. So after some pressure, the customer apparently won. However, I was really incensed that he then made the comment to a service guy that, in effect, they could put those tires on another car. To sustain the type of wear that they exhibited, in my opinion, they would have to have been run grossly underinflated for a period of time and I would suspect that there would be a possibility of some internal seperation or damage. The moron service person was exposing the next unsuspecting buyer to harm and the dealership to legal action by doing such an idiotic thing.<br>(modified jingle) "When you do the math, you lose with McGrath"
