My Review of Mercedes-Benz of Wilmington:
Purchased a car here in October. A month later, my T tags expired, and I had not received my plates. When I noticed it a week later, I called the dealership. Finally got to speak to the title clerk, who told me additional tax should have been collected, but was not, and I owed them >$1,000. Did not understand why, nor did she. Tried to deal with the general manager, who was no help, other than being rude, and telling me to pay the money or I would never get my tags. He didn't care that the deal we made was based upon the downpayment I contracted to put on the car. Salesperson also no help, and didn't care. Title clerk was extremely helpful, but had her hands tied. After a month of going back and forth, with no tags on my car and unable to drive it, I contacted state motor vehicle department. They looked at paperwork, and turns out that dealer made a mistake with my corporate name, resulting in additional taxes due. Went to dealership, explained the problem. They refused to correct the contract, saying its already been processsed, and told me the only way I would get tags would be to pay them, despite the paperwork problem being their mistake. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! From my experience, they only care to make the sale, and once they have you, they move onto the next.
