My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
I wanted to buy a car --BUT-- they lowballed my trade, lower than KBB, NADA, etc., over priced their car, and tried to bully and intimidate me. These folks do not want to sell cars at all. The salesman was nice, but the sales manager is rude and tries to cover his inappropriate pricing with loud bullying. I would never buy a car from Mercedes of Tucson! I'll go to Phoenix to buy my Mercedes.

My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
And here is the final installment, I picked up the car and gingerly drove it to a locally owned mechanic shop. After four weeks I finally got it back fixed. It cost another $1800. But it now works. The mechanic replaced the shifter frame assembly and the shift rod. The shifter frame assembly comes with the cable so now I have an extra. These are completely mechanical pieces. Mechanical pieces don’t just suddenly break. The Mercedes dealership has not tried in any way to take responsibility. I will not go back and recommend others buy and service their vehicles elsewhere.

My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
This is a follow up on an earlier review where I had problems with the Tucson Mercedes Benz dealer and fixing my 2001 SLK 320. Last time I told you how the manual transmission was working fine when I took it on and when I picked it up I couldn't get it into first gear. I took it back the following Monday (8 days ago) I had a 7:30 appointment. I got a loaner car. The original diagnosis of the problem was relayed to me about 3 in the afternoon Monday (I don't know why they make appointments.) The problem was a stretched cable (I have not been told the name of the cable. ) Estimated cost $285. I was told probably be done Tuesday (A week ago). It turns out there are no cables in the USA so they had to get one from Germany. Estimated completion Monday this week. On Tuesday I called them. The cable was stretched but that did not completely fix the problem. Something in the transmission (synchronization) needs to be replaced estimated cost $3300. They didn't explain what is not synchronized. So after breaking my transmission they’re going to charge me $3600 to fix it. So my routine maintenance plus breaks and tires turned out to cost me $7100 on a car valued at $12000. Doesn't really sound like a good decision but I've already spent $3600. What can you do once they charge you to fix some things and then they return it broken. P.S. Still haven't picked it up.

My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
I recently had an absolutely horrible experience with Mercedes of Tucson. The worse part (but by no means the only bad thing, nor the first time a service experience has been bad) was that I left with my manual transmission not working properly. You can get it into 1st by lifting and pressing hard to the left, and you can not down shift from third to second. Going to third from second feels like it's falling off a shelf. This is the second time this has happened once about two to three years ago and this time both times after servicing at the same dealer. Either the mechanics are intentionally breaking my car or they are incompetent.
After calling the head of the service department Scott Perkins, the only thing I got was another appointment for five days from now and probably another $1000. Not even a sorry.
I love my car (which I bought in Phoenix because I couldn’t deal with the arrogant sales people here. To be honest that was 8 years ago and I would imagine they are gone.) but, I just can see taking mine or a new Mercedes to Phoenix to get it properly serviced. (I have done that before when I mad after a similar prior service experience.)

My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
Overpriced....they work very hard to not sell you a car. They go through great lengths to lowball you on your trade, regardless of what KBB, EDMUNDS, or NADA prices your vehicle at. Being from Tucson, I would go to another dealer in the state because you'll make up the increase in tax rate with the price savings. I will never buy from them again.

My Review of Mercedes of Tucson:
I have to agree with the other poster. Attentiveness can be a little slow. I have to go looking for help as often as not.

My rating is no reflection on Dale, but the dealer he is trapped in. I like Dale. I think he is a good salesman and the only reason I even bother to step on to the lot. Several times I've tried to get a Benz. But they ask WAY too much for their cars. We came close once on an SLK, but the timing was wrong to push it.

Dale - keep up the good work. Beaudry - get a clue.

Hey Daimler if you're reading this - be smart. Do what Jag did. Give your dealer to Royal where they know how to do business.
