My Review of Metro Toyota:
We've purchased/leased a number of Toyotas from Metro. All of the people named above plus Toyota's continuing quality, are the reason we keep coming back. To us Mary, Jordan, Keith and Jon represent all of the best that Metro has to offer. Their honesty, integrity and committment to customer service are the best we've seen anywhere. Prior to retirement I spent 35 years in auto claims for a major insurance company and have dealt with a large number of dealerships. Metro Toyota is what I've always thought a dealer could and should be. Believe me, there's a number of American make dealerships that should be taking notes. From sales, finance, and service the experience is always excellent.

Once again, Metro Toyota proves itself to be the finest place in Kalamazoo to purchase a car and have it serviced, starting with Mary Peterson who steered us in the right direction to start the process and Dan Taylor who found us the perfect vehicle very quickly in a calm and efficient manor with lots of good advice and a friendly demeanor. Jon Griffith was very accomodating in processing the sale in a pleasant and timely way and Brad Cole also went out of his way to make sure we will always be repeat customers based on excellent customer relations.

My Review of Metro Toyota:
I previously bought a used vehicle from this dealership with the hopes that they would fulfill the promises they made upon purchase. Shortly after the purchase an oil light came on. I questioned this oil light with Ted and he said they would take care of it. Instead they put a new alternator in the van. I, not knowing much about cars, thought that it would be fixed. Needless to say it is 14 months later and the van breaks down. Come to find out antifreeze had been leaking in the oil little by little. So much for a thorough inspection. A couple hundred out of my pocket now and a sorry "we have done enough for you" from the sales manager named Chris. They preach integrity but don't seem to really know the definition. I would not do busines again for this simple fact and that also they don't inspect these vehicles as they claim.

I bought a used car from Tedd Shipp even though I live in Virginia and even though I never even physically saw the car before buying it. I did this because I trusted Tedd. Every time we talked he was friendly, patient, and helpful. And when he didn't know the answer to a question, he would find out for me and call me back. Now, even after I bought the car, AND HE DROVE IT FROM MICHIGAN TO MY HOUSE IN VIRGINIA at his expense, he is STILL as helpful and friendly and patient and responsive as he was before I bought the car. I could not have asked for better service.

My Review of Metro Toyota:
I dealt with Ken at Metro Toyota and had a good experience. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me the cars that matched my criteria, unlike other dealers that tried to push their own interests on me.

I ended up with a car I liked at a price I could afford. Before they turned the car over, they even put a couple new tires on it and put in new brake pads.

If there was anything negative, it was that I somehow missed a small dent in the front right panel of the. Ken never mentioned the dent, but that really isn't his responsibility.

Overall a great experience and I highly recommend if you are looking for a used car.

My Review of Metro Toyota:
After relocating to the area we decided to go to Metro Toyota to have my Sequoia worked on. We're not normally a fan of service at dealerships, due to previous experiences, but not knowing a mechanic in the area yet we gave it a try. I don't want to sound too gushy and emotionally female, so I'll keep it short - but I was impressed with them from beginning to end. My husband was shocked they didn't try to 'hose the little lady' and the problem turned out to be relatively minor in comparison to our belief it could have been the alternator. Everyone was so friendly from the man that checked me in, the shuttle gentleman and the woman who washed my car and checked me out. After that experience my husband and I decided that when it came time to buy another Tundra (we have the first model and it still runs & looks great at 260k+ miles), in a year or two, that we would definitely purchase from Metro-Toyota.
Wouldn't you know that within a week we spotted a beautiful Tundra 5.7 Cab Crew Max at a sensational price sitting in front of Metro-Toyota........so you see we really had no choice but to buy it! We worked with Ken Karakula for the purchase and Jon Griffith for the financing. The two of them made the process so smooth and hassle free and my husband just loves this truck! Quite frankly, I don't find many businesses focus on customer service, so perhaps that was why we were so blown away with the service at Metro-Toyota. It's obvious the customer is their top priority and that they understand we are free to go anywhere we please to spend our money. They're willing to work for your business. They all seem so happy working there as well that you can't help but feel good about the place. We made this purchase from them because we came to trust them and know they will continue to take care of our needs. We will happily recommend Metro-Toyota to our friends and family because we know they won't be disappointed.

Basically, to sum it up - they bring back an old term most have forgotten:
Business RELATIONSHIP. And my husband says I didn't keep it short after all...;-)

Very friendly and hardworking. Not the typical pushy used car sales man! Ted worked very hard for me to find the right vehicle for me that met my wants, needs, and price. Jon was awesome working with all the banks to get me the best loan option. They took care of everything for me hassle free.

My Review of Metro Toyota:
If it wasn't for Chris Wertanen, I would not have purchased this vehicle from Metro Toyota. He deserves all the credit for this sale. Mr. Zantner did not satisfy my needs in a negotiable bottom line price. Quite frankly, I felt he was kinda rude when I asked him to meet me in the middle in terms of price. He did however change his tune after I spoke with his manager. Thank you Chris for your expertise and concerns in the consumation of this deal!
