Employee(s) Dealt With: Brandon Alen

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
My husband and I stopped in to buy a car two weeks ago and the salesperson was unbelievably rude, I was having trouble making up my mind on a car and for good reason, buying a car is a huge purchase and I wanted to make a good decision. It took me a long time and Brandon said to me that he needed to make money and that I was wasting his time and he was not going to get top salesperson if I wasted his time. I was so offended that I yelled at him and my husband who was looking around heard and came over and I told him what Brandon had said to me and he got mad and yelled at Brandon and did use some bad language but he was defending me, Mr. Allen then told my husband to Fu#k off in the middle of the showroom. I could not believe this was happening, Now my husband was mad and Told the salesman he should be smacked for talking to a lady like that and Mr. Allen then told my husband to leave my husband said why don’t you put me out and Mr. all said watch how easy I can make you leave and called the police on him, I talked to the manager and he was very nice so I calmed my husband down and we left, Mr. Allen followed us outside and kept egging on my husband by saying sir sir please don’t leave buy a car sir don’t go. I have never been treated like this before and will never go there again. I hope Mr. Allen no longer works there.

Employee(s) Dealt With: matt I think

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
The dealership listed a 2001 VW Cabrio on craigs list and it's website. I called to see if the car was there and went to see it on march 16 (Friday). The car had yet been looked at by the shop but they had it priced and with a limited warranty on the lot. I took it for a pretty long test drive and wanted to buy. Problem was we found alot of issues with the car under the hood. They said it had to go through the shop first and they would call by Tuesday to tell me what they found on Monday. So we put a deposit on the car to hold it. Even though we hadn't settled on a price (they wanted 8,000 and with the issues we only wanted to pay 4,500. Wednesday my boyfriend stopped by since we didn't get a call to see what was going on. After they looked at the car the car wasn't road legal. That is a concern for me! They let me drive a car that was UNTESTED and UNSAFE. After expressing his distress (probably not in a calm manner-I wasn't there) he was "kicked out" of the dealership by the "owner". I m not saying what he did was ok, but the fact that I was put in unsafe car truly upsets me and make me double think any car I drive now. I know they only had the car for a day, but they should have checked it before putting it out for sale. I wouldn't take a car from these people if they gave it to me.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Mike, Mike& Mike the negotiator

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
First Mike was very fiendly and showed us a Kia Optima EX, which my wife and I liked very much. I was on a limited time schedule so I told him I would be back when I had more time. Mike contacted me and said they were really trying hard to move some new cars for the end of the month, and would I like to come in and he could give me a
great price. My wife and I came back on a Saturday and they were to busy to wait on me so they gave me Mike#2. Mike had just started so he wasn't very knowledgeable abouth the car, not his fault he seemed very nice. My wife and I took the Optima EX
with the premium package for a ride and we both liked it very much. Back to the showroom to make a deal. I was trading a 2007 Altima SL 2.5 with 88,000 miles and I checked the blue book value at about $10,000. This is were Mike #3 (the price negotiator) offered me $6500 for my car and discounted the new car $1000 off the MSRP
$27,215. This was their really great deal for the end of the month. Well right now I'm totally disgusted and ready to leave. Mike the negotiator comes back with his new offer of 17,100 plus tax and license and my Altima. See you later Monroeville Kia will never be back. Went to Smail in Greensburg got the exact car for $14,650 plus tax and license and my Altima. Thats $2,450 dollars less than Monroeville Kia. How do they stay in business.

Ps Smail in Greensburg didn't have my color in stock so they got it from Monroeville Kia, so I got the exact car I originally looked at in Monroeville. I love it!!

Employee(s) Dealt With: Probably the entire service staff

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
HORRIBLE - I purchased a 09 Mazda 3 from this dealership in December 2011 and have been back to the service center 6 times for the same issues. When i bought the car it was newly inspected, i had very bad vibration/pulling in the car. I was called while car was in and asked "who changed your tires last?" answer of course, "you did" well when they did they did not tighten the lug nuts in the front left tire. So I was told that was the problem. Still had problems, found out a bunch of recalls that were not fixed before they sold it to me, fixed them. Then vibration still bad, well bent rim, which was a struggle to get them to cover for "bent rims are not our responsibility", but they did cover it...last draw was that i was told everything was fine now, well got a flat tire, took it into a shop and 2 of my tires were "extremely dry rotted", and documented by the shop. Once again back to Mazda, they did replace the tires and sent me on my way. I find this completely unethical to sell and "INSPECT" a vehicle in November and turn around and sell it with dry rotted tires. Also in 5 visits my tires were taken off, etc every time and no one noticed this? The tire was so dry rotted that went flat that it actually split. With all the "technical" aspects out of the way, isn't there any concern for the safety my kids and I were put in with this situation, completely disgusted, Tracy.

Employee(s) Dealt With: I am not sure

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
I purchased my first car at this dealership. The people I interacted with were friendly enough. However when I went to sign the papers, the price of the car had mysteriously increased beyond what we had agreed upon. I should have left then immediately, but I was inexperienced and I needed a car, so I went through with it.

Since purchasing the car, I took the vehicle there for all services. I had oil changes, inspections, recalls, etc. all done in their service dept. When I had an issue with a certain part of the TPMS corroding [yes, after only 2 years], they refused to cover it under the warranty. That was really more of an issue with Mazda as a whole, rather than with the dealership. However, after they replaced the part [twice], which included a new tire [twice], I experienced leakage from a tire on a regular basis. I took it back to them, told them I had to put air in it every other day. They looked at it and said, "We don't understand why you keep putting air in it." The problem continued for several months.

Finally, upon the advice of others, I decided to find a reliable car shop. I have been taking my car there now for all services. The first thing I had them do was look at the tire that was leaking air. They said, "The seal around the TPMS simply wasn't sealed. We sealed it. It should stop leaking now." And it did.

If you want a reliable, trustworthy service shop, DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I had looked at reviews of this place before I bought my car there. I have learned an important lesson dealing with them. And like another reviewer said, I am thoroughly surprised by the amount of positive reviews about this dealership. Something fishy is going on.

Employee(s) Dealt With: service department

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
Absolutely the most unprofessional and incompetitent service department I have ever delt with. Never have the parts, backordered parts ordered incorrectly, no communication. Horrible!! Multiple trips required to get work done due to either non stock parts, incorrectly ordered parts or told parts were in stock and they actually were not. Had the van in for a recalled door latch. Picked the van up and the inside trim was not put back on and left on floor. There were oily foot prints in the van and on the seat and trim. This also was the case when I had the second row seat repaired. It took 4 trips because of ordering wrong parts. Each time the interior had oily finger prints on the seats. Had to clean it myself. There is no attention to detail at this service department. The service adviser, (a young woman) is very hard to understand, puts you on hold for every question asked and never has a complete answer. Very poorly trained.
The van has an extended warranty so I have to take it to Monroeville Kia for the work or pay a deductable if I take it to another dealership. This is the ONLY reason I continue to come to this dealership.

The entire experience with this dealership from the intial purchase to the servicing has been a huge disappointment. The only good thing was the Van is nice and they had the one we wanted in stock.

I will purchase a KIA in the future but I would rather drive 25 miles to another dealership rather that deal with these folks. I gave them several opportunities to change my opinion and I kept an open mind, but they are clearly not managed well and I will never recommend this dealership to anyone.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Fran, Anthony

My Review of Monroeville Kia Mazda:
After reading the good reviews, I decided to give this place a chance. Initially, I called and spoke with Fran. She was very friendly and encouraging. Although she did not appear to be as informed insofar as trims and options go, I had no problems overlooking this fact given her pleasantness. While they had one used vehicle that sort of met my criteria, she suggested I check out the dealership during the Inventory Reduction Sale because I may be able to get a good deal on a newer model. After considering it for a couple of days, I called back and left a message. She promptly returned my call and we set up an appointment with Tom Dean for the evening. After spending 3.5 hours on the road for my daily work commute, I assumed another hour would be worthwhile if only for the sake of introductions and gathering more information. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by Anthony. After asking for Tom, as I was instructed, I was politely informed that he was gone for the evening. Strike one. I then started to realize that my hopes of this "deal" were likely dashed and that they do not advertise prices so that they can pull customers in for appointments to move cars. I miss being treated like a person, but alas, we're walking dollar symbols for most these folks.

After sitting down and getting acquainted (albeit briefly), I was asked two questions that I never want a salesman to ask me. (1) How much do you want your monthly payments to be? What am I supposed to say? My limit so that you can maximize your profit on this sale? This is silly. (2) How much do you think your car is worth? Again, another loaded question. What happened to talking about the price of the car that we're considering and negotiating that? I did't hear one word about that until I directly asked near the end of my visit. Regardless, I played along only to be invited as a contestant on Deal or No Deal, Dealership Edition. That's right. In spite of the fact that it was NOT a busy evening and that I WAS supposed to meet a sales manager (Tom Dean), the manager who actually was present never took the time to introduce himself. Anthony would walk away to some other room to speak with him (a practice that, in itself is annoying; if we're playing Deal or No Deal, at least stay with me and contact your manager via phone) and come back with absurd offers and questionable rationale. Clearly, either sales were down for the day and I was thought gullible or Anthony and/or the manager simply didn't like me. With no introductions and a friendliness that can only be described as rigid at best, I considered this strike two. Maybe things could change when we go out to the lot, but alas...

As we walk aside, Anthony tries to offer me a 6 year old vehicle for which I had zero desire. When we finally do get around to the vehicle of my sole interest, we chatted briefly. I wanted to see what kind of price I was looking at and so Anthony had to consult the manager once more (there was no advertised price on the car or the web). When he returned, he already knew I was walking away, which makes me believe he has no freedom and is slavishly working for an asinine manager. I persisted with my desire to know and found the asking price to be so out of touch that it was insulting. A quick glance at a Kelley Blue Book in conjunction with other Autotrader ads reveal that, for the trim, year, and mileage, it was AT LEAST $2,000 overpriced. I had no intention of purchasing it unless the deal was irresistible, but they didn't even try. Instead, they tried to see if they could insult my intelligence. Strike three.

The moral of the story is that if you're an informed, intelligent, and patient buyer, stay far, far away. In fact, given the number of good reviews, I am 100% certain that they either ask every sale to do a review (which, if you purchased a vehicle, of course the review will be decent / good barring exceptional cases) or there is a gaping discrepancy in the quality of customer service between the managers. It's a shame really. I wanted to like the place, but it is what it is. When my wife seeks out a car within a few months, even though she wants a Mazda, I can promise you that she won't be going here.
