My Review of Mtn View Ford, Lincoln, Mercury:
The guys at MNT View were awesome. I must of gone to eight other dealerships drove a dozen cars and not one sales person could tell me one thing I wanted to know about the car I was driving. It seemed like they would change the subject or have to look it up or go ask somebody. The overall knowlege of the vechiles the ford guys were selling was awesome. Its the first place where I felt the people wanted to be there, wanted to sale a car. Futher more wanted to sale me the "right" car that fit me instead of sticking me in some car and telling me I have to drive this one because its a dream.
After walking around the lot, and finding the one that I liked. The "shock and awe" began. Rodeny and his partner started telling me and showing me everything about the car. From the engine, to air bags, the radio all the way back to the back bumper. By the time we got ready to take it for a test drive, they had already sold me the car in my mind. Driving it.... just sealed the deal. I didn't have to ask a single question about the car, because they already told me everything a guy/new father wants to know about a car, except where do I sign. When I got done with all the paper work, they had car parked outside ready to go. They even had all my radio station from my trade-in FM and Sirus radio channels pre-set in my new car for me.
Sounds like a sweet deal so far? It didn't stop there. I've own my car for almost 2 weeks now and I've gotten at least 3 phones call making sure I still love my new car as much as I did the day I drove it off the lot.
So they asked me if I could take the time take a little survey. They asked me to rate my car buying expriences on scale one to five. One being the worst, 5 being "great". To give them a five just wouldn't be fair. To rate anything a five in my book doesn't do anything for me in my book! ...Just finally thought of question about ford they can't answer down at MNT View! How would I give you guys a 10?
If you are looking for a new a car, and you haven't looked at Ford lately, check out downtown Chatt's MNT View Ford. Ask for Rodney or his parnter and see the differences!
Tell them John sent you.

My Review of Mtn View Ford, Lincoln, Mercury:
When I agreed on the price $8800 plus my 2004 Toyota Camry, I told Don that I wanted to pay cash and to pay the taxes separately. I was informed that I would have to run the agreement through the Finance division. There Jason paid no attention to my request and started typing in numbers that I could not see. Then we were told that unless Ford financed, the "rebates" could not be "validated". Jason explained special packages and insurance, (as time was drawing short--we had another commitment) then shoved papers at us to sign so fast that we did not have time to read them or discuss them. When I showed Pat what we had committed ourselves to ($16000) financing at 9.9% we called Shaun and asked that he immediately contact Jason and have him hold that contract so we could re-negotiate it, eliminating several items and willing to pay the taxes and a couple of the "extras" without financing them at 9.9%.
The next day when we took the title to the CAMRY back to Shaun he kept assuring us that there would be no "problem" in redrawing the contract, but Jason was not there that day. Acting on faith in Shaun's reassurances we signed over the title to him and he reassured us once more the other would be taken care of the next day, Friday, if we would come back. He also told us that he would fill the gas tank for the extra trip in to the dealership. We called him when we left home, he agreed to meet us at the Finance office, but he did not show up there and we were informed that Jason had already sent the papers in to Ford for financing.
We are pleased with the car and want to keep it. We are not pleased with the events surrounding the financial contract. We informed the dealer of our displeasure and still want to renegotiate the contract for financing, if we really have to do so.
My wife was pleased with and wanted the car so badly, even when I suggested that under those arrangements it would cost us more than $21000 plus our Camry.
I reluctantly signed but am totally displeased with the process after we left the sales office.

Ed and Pat,
This is Shaun Kesler, with Mtn View Ford Lincoln Mercury. Thank you for taking the time to address your concerns on our Dealer Rater page. I want to take time to respond publicly and personally so that we can hopefully get this worked out. We take a ton of pride in the excellent service that we provide our customers and this is just another way for us to address customer concerns.
Let's tackle this one step at a time. Starting with the beginning of paragraph #1, you are correct, we did agree to an 8800 trade difference plus tax. We agreed upon this number because the SES Focus had a 1000 rebate, a 1500 rebate, and a 500 Ford Motor Credit Financing rebate. In order to pick up the extra 500, you agreed to finance through Ford Motor Credit. We knew up front the rate was going to "higher than what you were getting at your bank." At that point we agreed to go to the business office and you were told 8800 plus taxes, tag, title and any additional products such as extended warranty would be extra.
You mentioned that "then shoved papers at us to sign so fast that we did not have time to read them or discuss them." From what I recall, the time spent in the business office was nearly an hour. I was not in the office to know how everything went, but I do know that we tape our finance transactions for the protection of our customers. Every customer is notified up front when then go in the business office that the transaction is being taped.
As you said, the next day, you did bring the title to me and handed it to me personally. Jason was off and I felt it would be in the best inerest of you to deal with him personally. I did reassure that you would be able to get with him the next morning and get everything worked out. I requested that you meet me here at my desk the next morning and I would take you straight across the road to get with Jason(we agreed on this then).
However, he next morning, it was POURING rain. I received a telephone call and was told that you would be heading straight to Jason's side of the road so that you didn't have to get out in the rain and that it wasn't necessary for me to get out in it. I said fair enough, he will be waiting on you across the road in his office. I received a call from you, evidently while you were in his office that morning, however I was tied up with a customer on the telephone.
After speaking with Jason today, he told me that he gave you the oppurtunity to talk to our main sales manager, Jamie, and then to the general manager, Mike. We did end up taking an "extra" off for you per your request. After that, you headed over to my desk. I was still on the phone with the same customer from the paragraph above and it had been nearly an hour since I missed your call. I assumed everything was ok and good to go. You then told me you needed me to get the XZILON application put on your vehicle. I assumed everything was ok. After getting that handled, you mentioned to me that everything in the business office went to fast for your liking. I told you that I apologized for the mishap, but was glad that you got to talk to Jason again this morning. You mentioned that he had already sent papers to Ford?
I can't understand what makes you totally displeased. We did everything we were asked of you, and the taped transaction was even reviewed with you sitting there. I am just a little confused at this point.
As far as renegotiating the contract, that was the plan from the start. You agreed to finance through Ford to take advantage of the extra 500.00 rebate and then refinance at a much lower rate through your bank. That is perfectly ok. Keep in mind, the loan is simple interest. You will not pay 21,000 for the Focus plus your Camry. If you refinance, you will pay the original amount financed minus the principal amount that came off from the payments.
All of this being said, I would be more than happy to call you or you even call me. You can also email me at shaunkesler@mvford.com. I don't want any customer being totally displeased with the way we do things here at Mtn View Ford. I really don't know what else I can do to resolve this matter, but hopefully, you will change your mind on this particular review as you can edit it at any time.
