My Review of Northtown Toyota:
Seems like nobody ever bothers with the positive reviews, so I'll be the first.

I broke my own car. It was my fault, and there was no reason to expect the warranty to cover it. I unplugged an airbag component during a stereo install, and needed a service dept to reset the airbag light so the scummy local mechanic (not a dealership) would pass my state inspection.

I pulled into the service entrance which is a drive in valet service. I was greeted by a service manager at the curb who asked what I needed. Because it was a "trivial" task, they ended up doing it for me completely free of charge. While I was there I decided to hit up the parts desk for a light bulb I needed. Since I was planning to change it myself, they first offered to let me use the service bay (it was dark and raining outside.) When I had trouble getting my taillight off, one of the mechanics looked the procedure up for me in the tech manual.

My total expenditures? $4.32 for two light bulbs. They gave me a free cup of coffee, too.

My story probably doesn't seem very significant, since I didn't get ripped off. But for every story of a confrontation or negative experience, there are dozens of satisfied customers like me who get royal treatment regardless of our dollar value to the dealership. That's why dealerships like this spend the money they do and earn the business they get. Because 99% of the time, it's worth it.

My Review of Northtown Toyota:
This service center puts immediate bottom line ahead of everything else and it starts from the top of the service manager Mike Zyglis!

I was rudely called by Mike Zyglis to tell me he will put a warrant out for my arrest because I had told one of the employees I will not sign the insurance check until the rental car issue is resolved and informed that I would be leaving in my car but that I will take responsibility for payment. Mr. Zyglis did not care to find out why I was unhappy with the service, he just wanted the money ASAP and didnt care and was extremely rude & threatening, extremely inappropriate.

I was going to write Mr Zyglis an email about a threat I had received from Vince Paulsen (service rep mgr or somethine) who had told me he wasnt giving me attitude and if he was, he would (and implied will) screw me over and charge me as much as he possibly could, which turned out was for work that Northtown had originally screwed up!

These people missed the whole point, it does not matter to me who pays for the work (warranty or insurance) and they shouldnt either since I am a customer of Northtown and they do not work directly for either business, at least that is what the sales dept told me.

I can safely say that customer service is not a priority to Northtown, which is sad, because the new car sales people act like it is one of their strengths.

I can also say that I will avoid this service center as much as possible and will never buy from NORTHTOWN again, and I hope that others do not suffer the same rude & threatening treatment I have received either because they change or they go out of business.

My Review of Northtown Toyota:
In spite of my friends' advice not to go to this dealer, I went there anyway. I now regret it. I should have listened....

I dealt with 2 different sales people on 2 different visits. Everytime I tried to deal prices, their attitude totally changed from a fabricated smile to rudeness and even insults. Yes, down right, indubious insults. My experience wasn't all that different from that of my friends. I really should have listened to my friends.....

ANYBODY EVEN THINKING ABOUT GOING TO THIS NORTHTOWN TOYOTA DEALER IN AMHERST (BUFFALO SUBURB), DON'T RUIN YOUR DAY!
