My Review of Northwest Valley Dodge Hyundai:
2002 Dodge Stratus R/T - 29k+ miles - 5 speed manual trannie.
starting to grind shifitng into overdrive (5th gear)

1. called 6/15/04 to ask for an appointment.
- one was given for 6/16/04 9:00am
- I asked if there was an overnight drop-off, told yes and to bring a pen/pencil for the dropoff envelope
- arrived 10:00 pm on 06/15/04, pen in hand = NO ENVELOPES
- used one from a neighboring dealer.

2. I was called in the early afternoon of 06/16/04, stating the clutch plate had a crack and a bearing release had wear. Aprox. $1500 - not covered under either the OEM 36/36 or Extended 70/100,000.
- I called them back with my 3rd party warranty info (GEICO) and
they said they'd work with them.

3. GEICO tech approved the repair 06/17/04. I was told I should be on the road the afternoon of 6/18/04. = No contact on the 18th. The car was not not done 6/18/04.

4. I called early Saturday, 6/19/04 and noone returned my call.

5. I called Monday, 6/21/04, and they said they had to order a part. It would be in LATE MORNING ON 06/22/04 and I should be on the road by Wedsnday 06/23/04
( WHY DIDN'T THEY ORDER THE PART THURSDAY 06/17/04 ?)

6. I called late afternoon 6/23/04 and was told that they were just finishing up and the car would be ready late morning - Thursday 6/24/04.

7. I called mid-morning 06/24/04. The car was not ready. Nobody knew anything about it. It was the service writer's day off.

8. I drove to the dealer late afternoon 06/24/04 and talked with the Sevice Director and he was at a loss to explain why i was told that the car would be ready early 06/24/04, as the needed part had only been deliverd mid-morning 6/24/04.
- I was told that the car would be ready late-afternoon on 6/25/04

9. I received a call about 5:30 pm (service closes at 6:00 pm)
that the car was ready.
- Picked up the car...drove less than a mile - YOU GUESSED IT. The grinding into 5th gear is still there. THEY HAD REPLACED THE CLUTCH PLATE ASSEMBLY BUT DIDN"T FIX THE PROBLEM.
- I was told to bring it back next week. HUH ?
- The service director, Dan Kelleher, said he test drove the car BUT NEVER GOT IT INTO 5th GEAR !. Huh ?

10. I took the car back @ 9:00 am on Saturday 6/26/04. Complaining to another service writer. I have now asked them to check the TRANNIE - flush/change oil; check synchronizer rings\springs & gear cones etc

They have had the car 9 days and didn't fix the problem. They will now have it at least 3 more full days.

It is service that will bring me back to a dealer to buy our next car(s)
Unfortunately. our next car purchase will not be from this dealer.
