My Review of P.S. HONDA:
I was told by a family member not to go to PS Honda. They were right. As soon as I walked in I felt very suspicious of the salesmen and the surroundings. I was approached by a salesman and in the middle of him explaining the cars interior, he noticed a friend of his walk in. He looked at me and said excuse me and walked away. Disgusting and disgaceful. I then waited for 20 minutes until a salesman was free. While waiting for the 20 minutes I keyed in on a conversation that another salesman was having with a prospective buyer. Now I know my math when it comes to leasing. He was literally FLEECING the poor man. I finally got to sit down with a salesman. I told him what I wanted and what I was willing to put down. Boy did he come up with some OUTRAGEOUS numbers. Not only that. He refused to negotiate saying that I was getting an outstanding price. I had him write everything down on a piece of paper. I then got up and told him that he and the dealer are close to committing a crime with these prices. OVER PRICING and LOUSY DEALERSHIP, Failing to negotiate. Never go to this dealer.

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
after doing the dealer dance at 4 other dealers in queens in long island i made a appointment with bill geannaris to look at a honda civic. i already had done all the research, knew the invoice price, fees ect. so i was totally prepared to haggle. problem is, they gave my a price 200 BUCKS UNDER THE INVOICE! i was already happy with that so all that was left was my trade in which was close to what i expected ( although they gave me a price 500 more sight unseen). only thing i had to haggle was for accessories. wanted a alarm, wheel locks, and door trim which the accessories department tried to charge me 1000 for but got them down to 700 (by that time i was tired of haggling and listening to him complain about how i was getting a steal of a deal on accessories). one thing that i didn't like is that after having a complete number for the car when i came to pick up the car i found out the accessories guy didn't calculate the tax correctly but the manager split the difference with me. hey, i came in paying cash. would definitely recommend purchasing from them. just do your research first so you know what number you can expect to pay.

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
I took my Odyssey into PS to get a smog test (required by NY). Here's the run-down of issues that I experienced:

1) Rude Service Manager/Service Advisor - The service manager addressed me rudely when I walked in to the area clearly marked "service". He told me to get out, go to the service desk and re-park my car. The SA was slightly better, but still not polite.

2) Long Wait -- It took me 2.5 hours to get my car tested and I was one of the few people in there. Smog testing facilities in Illinois take 10 minutes tops, assuming the line to get in isn't long. And those are state-run facilities on a par with the DMV for effieicncy.

3) Run-Down Facility -- The waiting area was like a old Jiffy Lube: crappy seats, blaring TV, sticky magizines, no coffee, messy. They had a wireless network, but it didn't work. The facility overall had a very 1990 look to it, not at all up to the standards set by newer dealerships. The signage was small and looked almost hand-painted. The Honda sign was one from the 1980's that spelled Honda in big, block letters: H-O-N-D-A, no blue 'H' icon like every other Honda dealership I have ever seen. I checked out the showroom, and it was small and messy. Not at all inviting.

4) Sketchy Attempt to Upsell Service -- Once they smog test was done, they informed me that the rear brakes were shot and needed to be replaced (rotors and all) to pass a "safety inspection". I'm pretty sure that the rear breakes were fine (no noise, smell or lack of effectivness). What I found irritating was they they tried to couch the brake replacement in terms of a state "safety inspection". I'm pretty sure that's not true.

5) Pressure for good CSI rating -- A day after getting the smog test, the service advisor called, asked if anything was wrong. If not, he asked that I give an "excellent" review. Right. When Honda called about my experience, I gave them all the details I'm putting down here.

Service department unfriendly. Pricing is beyond what is to be expected. I walked out feeling I was totally ripped-off. And the car still didn't work!

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
Due to a credit car problem that was the dealer's fault, they held my car unecessarily over the weekend. They were unfriendly rude and unhelpful and caused great difficulty by unecessarily holding my car for extra days. If you are smart you would stay far away. The manager made no effort to resolve this in a fair manner. The dealer thinks because they are selling a quality car (a honda) it gives them the right to mistreat customers. Yes I am very angry.

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
First I would say that all of the Honda dealers in the NYC area are despicable. Such a surprise that they are all so dirty for a car company that is so highly rated on quality. Nevertheless, this particular dealer changes the trade in value for your car on a near daily basis, from your first conversation (good value) to signing the deal (rip off) based on no new info. Over the course of two weeks, while they were looking for the color combo I wanted they decreased the value of my trade-in by $1K, saying they made a mistake on the model I had. Then that offer was pending lift inspection, which occured 4 days later, and upon finding absolutely no problems with the car, lowered the trade-in value by another $500.

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
I received two estimates for the exact same job on two different occasions that varied by 38 percent.

Very unprofessionally run service department.

When you pull up your car to the service department you wonder what to do with your car because of a lack of simple signage. This is indicative of the experience I had inside where I had to ask questions about every little thing because the staff was not forthcoming.

My Review of P.S. HONDA:
After shopping around for a new car for few weeks, we went to PS Honda to look at Accords. Mohammad was very pleasant and easy to work with and there was absolutely no sales pressure to get us to make purchase. After the test drive, we asked him fot the best price he can show us, and right off the bat, he told me not only the best price, but also how much the dealership is making on the sale. I researched on the web for the invoice price and his price was right at invoice shown on cars.com. I told Mohammad we are considering some of competing models and said we will be back if we decide on Honda. He thanked us and said he hopes to see us again.
After not-so-satisfactory at competitors' dealers, we decided we wanted to work with Mohammad and went back. We asked to test drive Civic to be sure Accord is the right car, which he cordially agreed. After the test drive, we decided on the Accord and he wrote up the car and clearly explained all charges for registration, tags, etc.
Mohammad asked me to come in the following day for financing as it was almost close up time.
Finance guy was not as great to work with though. Honda had special 2.9% financing and finance guy said I did not qualify for 2.9% but he will give me 3.9%. But 3.9% was only good if I purchased overpriced alarm, extended warranty, gap insurance along with host of other dealer options. With all options, 3.9% monthly payment was much higher than my bank's regular rate payment. Obviously, I passed on his financing offer and with my own bank's fianancing.
I would highly recomment Mohammad but get finance approval from another source before buying from PS Honda.
My Review of P.S. HONDA:
After reading all the negative reviews of Honda dealers in New York CIty, I was apprehensive about buying a CRV from one of them. Since I live in Queens, I decided to bypass the New York City dealers and drive a few miles out into Long Island to PS Honda. It turned out to be a great decision. The salesman, Mohammad Dar, gave me a test drive and did not try to oversell the car. He did not try to commit me to the car when I told him that I would come back in a week or so with my wife for a test drive.

As promised, I came back a week later with my wife. We decided the CRV was the right car and sat down for negotiations. I told Mohammad that I got email quotes from several dealer in New York City. He took my quotes back to his manager and came back a few minutes later with a price that is $100 LOWER than my best price. Easiest negotiations that I ever went through.

The day before the car was ready, they asked me to come in to sign some paperwork. As expected, the sales manager Alan tried to add on some dealer accessories like alarms and running lights. However, I felt that $600 for a full alarm and $300 for running lights were too pricey and declined. Alan did not try to push the sale after that. Relatively painless. Just be careful about what they are selling you. My CRV comes equipped with an immobilizer as standard equipment and yet he still tried to sell me an immobilizer and an alarm. Don't know if it was a mistake on his part or not.

I picked up the car the next day. I was in and out in less than an hour.

This was really the best car buying experience I ever had. This dealer is highly recommended.
