My Review of Parsons Chrysler:
I am writing about the shabby treatment I received from Parsons Chrysler in Winchester, VA. I own a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. I like the van and have replaced both the engine and transmission. In July it began running rough especially when accelerating up hills here in West Virginia. I took it to the dealership and they called me and said the reason it was running poorly was because the oxygen sensors needed to be replaced. I agreed to have them replaced and the charge was $609.68 and they told me that the problem had been corrected.
Almost immediately after I began to drive my van the problem reoccurred. I returned the van to the dealership and they said that the problem was another faulty sensor, which they replaced at a charge of $186.00 and assured me that the problem had been corrected. Again, as I drove the van home the problem reoccurred.
I called Mr. Michael Wesley, the service manager and told him that the problem had not been corrected and told him of my displeasure with the service I had been given. I told him that I had spent approximately $800.00 in service charges and the problem had not been corrected. He told me to bring it back in. I voiced my opinion that they hadn’t fix it after I had it to them twice already and spent nearly $800.00, what would make me think they would fix it now. He then told me that he had told the service staff to tell me that it was a problem with the crankshaft bearing and that I needed a new engine.
My question then was, if it was a crankshaft problem why did they replace the sensors and charge me a total of $800.00. I then ask for my money back. He told me in no uncertain terms that I wasn’t going to get my money back.
I have written the BBB and they have written Parsons' 3 times with no response. It's obvious to me they just don't care. The American dealer's wonder why the foreign industry is overtaking them. Could it be good products and better service. I plan to take it to the media next.
