My Review of Paul Miller Honda of West Caldwell:
My wife and I went in on a Wednesday night close to closing and was shown a 2010 Honda Odyssey. We were given a lease price of $388\month with $1500 down for 36 months \ 12K a year. We went home and returned on Saturday morning to purchase the car only to be given the price of $488\month for the same car. When asked why it changed we were told it was a mistake. After complaining to the manager - Justin, he gave the price of $439\month. Leaving there angry and feeling slighted, I put aside the differences and went in on Monday to purchase the vehicle. This time we were given a price of $475\month for 39 months \ 12K a year. When we questioned management again we were told they sell 250 cars a month and mistakes are made. I don't know about you, but if I ever made this amount of mistakes at my job I would be fired immediately.

We came into the dealership two days ago ready, willing and able to buy for cash. When we came in the receptionist was busy talking away about personal matters to another employee. After standing in front of her for 5 minutes she finally asked if we need help. She then paged any available sales person. No response. Every 10 or 125 minutes for the next 40 minutes we went back to her for another page. At no time did anyone ever come to assist us. After 45 minutes we left and purchased our vehicle from another Honda dealer. Needless to say I would never patronize this dealership.

The staff at Paul Miller Honda of West Caldwell was exceptional. I enjoyed our entire experience there. We were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. There was no pressure to purchase a car or any haggling over money. The finance department worked hard to meet our goals for payments. I would highly recommend Paul Miller Honda to anyone looking to purchase a new Honda or a used vehicle.

I had leased a 2006 Honda Accord from Honda of Essex and was very unhappy with the experience. When it was time to turn in that car, we were lucky enough to be able to work with a very professional, honest and experienced sales person named Lou Gentile. He made a very bad experience 3 years prior to a very good experience. They have also followed up to make sure we are happy with our purchase of a 2009 Honda Civic --- which we love!

In our hectic day to day schedules it seems we always find the time to call and complain about things, but rarely do we make the time to give individuals credit for a job well done. In the past, most of my experiences buying a new auto have not been great ones, and when I was going out to purchase a vehicle for my daughter I expected the same type of experience. To my surprise I was fortunate to visit your dealership, although I had previously purchased a vehicle at that location, the dealership was now under new ownership (Paul Miller Honda). I was even more fortunate, getting Louis Gentile as my salesperson. Lou is one of the most knowledgeable and professional salespersons I have met.

I felt that Lou’s priority was to make sure both I and my daughter were completely satisfied with the auto we chose. He patiently listened to our questions regarding what we were looking for in a vehicle and as I said before he answered every question without hesitation. Lou was very courteous to my whole family and was genuinely concerned that we were happy. He located the exact vehicle we wanted. Even when we came to pick the car up Lou again went out of his way to be sure we were 100% satisfied and spent as much time as we needed to go over the vehicle with my daughter and to make sure she completely understood how everything worked before driving away with the vehicle.

With personnel like Lou I am sure your dealership will thrive, even in the current economy. I will not hesitate to recommend Lou and your dealership to any of my friends or family who mention to me that they are interested in purchasing a new Honda. Again, thank you for the excellent service.

STAY AWAY!!! Bought a Certified Pre-Owned car for over $20K and turned out it had a busted transmission when I bought it! Sales Manager "Ken" bullied me about credit and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Took 7 HOURS to purchase vehicle! PLAN TO BE THERE ALLLL DAY - they are SLOWER than any other dealer - even my salesperson said he didn't understand why they are so slow at the process. Gave me huge issues about returning busted CPO car, and DID NOT find me the lease car I wanted - just gave me some second-rate thing they had on the lot. NEVER returned my calls. On hold for 20+ minutes each time. TERRIBLE experience, I don't think it can get much worse. Do you need any other reason to go to the better ones like Garden State Honda or DCH??? I totally regret going to Paul Miller. They are a mess. This happened this summer, but I've been meaning to post my thoughts since then. Please please beware.

Excellent experience from the online quote to picking up the car. Told them I'm a non-nonsense guy and they respected that. Unlike other dealers in NJ, they were able to meet my OTD price without a hassle and were able to meet my price for the trade-in. Love my new Honda.
