My Review of Phil Long Ford of Denver:
This was the worst dealership I’ve ever went to, I had many problems and the overall experience was horrible, that experience made me not want to work with a dealer again. First thing was I went in to look at a 2001 dodge Dakota, it was in good condition but wasn’t worth 12,000, so I started to ask questions about the truck and they didn’t know about the truck, it clearly had aftermarket exhaust and I was told its all stock, then I wanted to know where they get their prices, they told me they meet kbb or beat their prices, so I had them do a kbb check and they tried to add items to make the price of the vehicle more. After that they tried to make me sign a finance application when I had a pre-approved check already, the reason for the finance app was just incase I didn’t bring them the check the next day and that was after they told me I could use a credit card as a security deposit. Another thing was the sales man agreed that the price would be 10,750 with tax and dealers fees, so I went to sign and they added all that back, they tried to say that they didn’t say that it included dealer’s fees and taxes. After that I tried to compromise with them and they didn’t want to, so they told me "it's not that we don’t want your business it’s just that we could get somebody else to pay full price" and they just let me leave but right before I walked out the door one of the dealers started to yell across the room "it’s only 500 dollars more that you need to pay" and that was right in the middle of the show floor. So then the next day I called the general manager and explained the whole situation and he told me the reason why they were trying to sell the vehicle for so much was that the owner of the truck also traded in a classic car and the owner of the dealership really wanted it so the owner of the truck used that to his advantage and made the dealers pay more for the truck than what’s it's worth and the dealer did just so he could get the classic car too, and it upsets me that he’s trying to charge us for something he did just so he could get his classic car. All in all I would never go back there again I wouldn’t even recommend them to somebody I don’t like.
