My Review Of Pine Belt Chevy Eatontown:
Let's first state that it is extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY, rare for any company to get as many 5 star ratings as this one does. The reason for this is because employees are the ones rating it with 5 stars.
The problem I had, was when I went to the dealership. I live about 2 hours away, and I told them that I was planning on coming in and driving away in a particular new car they had in stock. I was already pre-approved for financing at a very good rate, and they said that they deal with my particular financial institution, and that it wouldn't be a problem to get the same rate.
I showed up and test drove the specific vehicle that I was interested in. We were all set to make the purchase, but that's when the attempted screwing began. First off, they didn't get me the financing through my particular institution like they promised, and it was going to cost me several more percentage points higher for the financing. Secondly, they tried to scam me on what my trade in vehicle was worth. They were showing me a stripped down 2WD model of my particular vehicle in their black book, but I had a well stocked 4WD model. When I pulled the book out of the salesman's hand, that's when I saw the real value of my vehicle. They also gave me a price over the phone that was fair and reasonable, but after I got there they upped it a few thousand more. The last part of the attempted screw job was when the salesman kept going back and forth into the sales manager's office during the negotiations, and then finally told us that it didn't matter because the vehicle was already sold. When we asked who bought it, we were pointed to a couple that were in the sales manager's office the entire time the negotiations were going on.
Save yourself a lot of time and headaches. Deal with any other dealer but them. They will screw you over in a heartbeat. Just look at all of the fraudulent 5 star ratings.
