My Review of Pride Hyundai Inc:
I spoke with the sales manager and had pre-applied for financing, fully expecting to purchase a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe on Saturday. I was handed off to a salesperson, if you call him that, Mark Tapley, who had no idea what I had already discussed with Paul Darosa. I was very specific in what I was looking for, and was told that there were 2004 Santa Fe's in stock in the mid-teens by Paul. I was also very up front about my trade in. I even sent in my application and was pre-approved for financing.

When I got there, Mark was very evasive in pricing and what my approved finance rate was. After stalling for over 45 minutes, he came back with a $22,000 price and a trade offer that was unrealist for an Acura CL, which I had advised was necessary in order to complete the deal. I was told a monthly payment of over $500 a month, which was ridiculous. The "person" behind the desk that Mark was stalling with and working on pricing was very rude to me and my fiance. He didn't know anything about my appointment or what was discussed with Paul Darosa. He told us my car wasn't worth even $6,500 and we should go elsewhere.

There should have been paperwork made out and a list of the specific vehicles that were in the price range I wanted to spend instead of walking me through the lot to pick out a car. I was lead to the back lot of 2004 Santa Fe's, so assumed these were the ones that were discounted. I specifically referred to the rebate of $1,500 and the special manufacturer incentives that you are advertising on television. I am shocked at the treatment when I was very specific of not wanting to go in unless this deal was going to work for both parties.

In closing, I will be going to another dealer to purchase a 2004 Santa Fe. I will not buy a car from Pride in Pawtucket. I was a serious buyer and expected to be treated seriously when I went into the dealership. Instead there were stalling games and unrealistic pricing. You should not advertise and tell potential customers misinformation if you want to make sales. Besides the misinformation, the treatment by the sales staff was completely rude. Paul Derosa disappeared after I introduced myself to him. If he was still there when I walked out, I would have let him know as well.
