My Review of Roger Williams Chrysler Plymth:
On 6/4/04, I took my 2001 Dodge Ram to your dealership for repair of what appeared to be a misfire or miss when on the highway. I was contacted by Mr. Jarrett and advised that a distributor cap, plug wires, and a rotor were needed at a cost of $485, even though I have just changed the plugs, and personally checked out the items that are recommended. I agreed to these repairs but found when I picked up the truck that the vehicle had the same miss that it was brought in for. I brought the car back in on Monday, June 7, to advise Mr. Jarrett, that the same condition existed and the truck even idled slightly worse.

Your dealership kept the vehicle until June 10, attempting to determine the cause of the misfire and communicating with Chrysler to make that determination. I agreed to return the vehicle on June 15 for repair and agreed to pay 1/2 of the cost of the installation of a throttle position sensor but asked for an understanding of what would occur if this suggested repair did not correct the condition. Mr Jarrett talked with his Service Manager who refused to consider the $485 which was previously paid for a repair that, in my opinion, the vehicle did not need, by saying that the truck probably needed a tuneup anyway.

I am very unhappy with your dealership because of your Service Manager's approach of "Parts Swapping" to resolve a customer problem without consideration for the cost imposed on the customer.

I know as a supplier to Chrysler, Ford and GM, I am not allowed to apply a "Shotgun" approach to problem solving, hoping that some action that I have taken will fix the problem.

If you would like feel free to contact me at 734-516-9693.

Charles Kelly
