My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
Please, Please, Please do not waste any of your valuable time or money with these con artists! It has been almost 10 years, but I am still extremely angry and upset over how I was ripped off by this dealership.

In April 1999, I bought a used 1992 Toyota Corolla DX for $6100, and a 2 year - 24,000 mile warranty for $800. (The so called "bumper to bumper" warranty was named "Secure Value Plus") I was extremely reluctant to buy the warranty at first, but they put me through a very "hard sell", and knocked off $100 (so they claimed) so I bought it.

In September 1999, with little warning, the Corolla's transmission died. The repair estimate came to a little over $2,000. After three weeks of stalling and excuses, Rosenthal denied my warranty service claim, and refused to pay or service my vehicle under the warranty. (They claimed that I was somehow at fault for the car's transmission dying after just 5 months of normal use.)

Again, please avoid this dealership!

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
This dealership is full of the most DECEITFUL and CROOKED salespeople I have EVER SEEN at ANY DEALERSHIP. You will surely be CHEATED if you buy a car here. There are several other Honda dealers in the area, go to ANY other one. Not only are these salespeople CORRUPT and IMMORAL, they are also INCOMPETENT. If you buy a car here, you will be in for a drawn out, frustrating waste of time, and you will ruin your entire car buying experience.. perhaps forever.

I was trying to buy a Honda Fit, and after about 1 hour of negotiations, I had come to a price which was just over my limit, but I decided to go with it anyway. At first, I had asked for them to give me the "Out the door" price, which they refused, claiming that finance would handle that step.

They also tack on useless packages such as mud flaps and wheel locks, and charge $495 for that package. For reference, mud flaps cost around $50 aftermarket and wheel locks are around $30-40. They put this package on EVERY car, so you will definitely pay more than MSRP if you buy from here.

After we agreed on the price, I was forced to wait 2 hours before I could see finance. Fortunately, during this period of time, I was able to eavesdrop on the head manager and the sales tactics he used.

He said something to this effect:
"Just tell them about the mud flaps and wheel locks, and bam, you've got em'."

"What the *#@! do you have to do to sell this car?"

Surely, this manager is immoral and out to cheat his customers. He has a beard, so if you ever go and see a bearded fellow behind the center desk, be extremely wary.

Finally, after a trying experience (I had already purchased insurance for the car too) we finally met finance. The guy was cheery at first, hoping to take us off guard. However, when he offered up the usual warranty packages, I noticed that the price of the car was $635 more!

At first, I thought it was an honest mistake, and it would just take a few minutes to straighten out, however it turned out that the manager had intentionally lied about including the freight in the agreed upon price. They told me that they couldn't do it for that price (that we had agreed upon and I had signed for) and I left extremely dissatisfied, hurt, and upset.

This is apparently a common practice for these crooks. What they do is get you to a price that you will buy the car for, have you sign a sales sheet, THEN put the numbers in, which will be DIFFERENT than the price you agreed upon! I was incredulous by their lack of decency.

Please do yourself a favor, and never ever buy a car from these guys. Tell all your friends, because apparently this is common at this dealership! I will be reporting them to the better business bureau in hopes that they will be shut down and be replaced by salespeople with integrity and honesty.

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
If you are considering this dealership, just be aware that they used to belong to the Rosenthal chain and had a pretty bad reputation while operating under that name.

Now, they are part of a huge corporate Auto Nation-type operation. Their name is now Honda of Tysons Corner.

I've heard mixed things about how their new corporate policies have hurt customer service. In service, I've noticed that they don't offer a couple of free services that they used to, and they have done away with some popular specials, so I no longer take my car there for service.

One thing a longtime employee told me is that turnover has gone up a lot, and employee morale is down. Take that for what it's worth.

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
This is the worst dealership I have ever been too!!! The whole process minus the sales person was horrible. The sale manager was the worst I knew exaclty what car I wanted and had talk to salesperson via telephone to set up the test drive we sat for over five hours going back and forth with the terrible sales manager to make the deal. They really go for the jugular we told him how to do his job, we broke out the calculators and ran the numbers for him to try. It took complaints to the GM to make the pre-owned sales manager get off his ass work on a very reasonable deal. If you bring a sleeping bag and a picnic lunch and stick to your guns you might get a good deal but is what your saving really worth it? I tell you not enough for me to go back.

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
Tried the bait & switch on me but it failed. I agreed with the sales on a price yesterday. Drove 1/2 hour, walked in this morning and everything sounded good until another manager (the Sikh) told me that they couldn't do the deal at that price. I got up and left. I won't be coming back.

I will say that the sales rep was very friendly and accomodating, was willing to let me drive the vehicle home and make sure that it fit in my garage etc. However you cannot trust these people!

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
This dealership could truly have been the one described in the Edmunds article: http://www.edmunds.com/advice/buying/articles/42962/article.html
VERY pushy. Acted insulted when I offered to pay fair market value. Wasn't allowed to be left alone with the car to even look at it, much less test drive it. I was also shown the car in a very "oh, here's a girl looking at the car--I'll show her the child seat restraints!" which was insulting.

The manager, who is a Sikh, even went so far as to subtly suggest that I was racist and thought he was a terrorist!

They refused to put any numbers on paper except the MSRP. Which they claimed to "discount by $300" but then added $299.99 in bogus dealer prep fees to the numbers they gave me.

They called me yesterday and I had the pleasure of telling them that I bought a Jetta instead (from Stohlman Volkswagen who are fantastic).

My Review of Rosenthal Honda:
I went in with my wife to buy a Honda Pilot, I knew exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay for it. Miloud our sales guy was kind, helpful and very friendly. The price I had in mind is what I researched over the internet it was way below what they wanted for the Pilot, but I showed them the print out and they negotiated. The sales person did not nickel or dime us, came back with one figure which was acceptable to us and I didn't have to buy this Pilot from a dealer far away from us for the price that we wanted at Rosenthal offered us the same deal with two added options to the vehicle. Great sales staff and no headaches. Will keep this board updated when I go for servicing and other things. <br>P.S. Do your research before going car shopping, be very well informed and ready to deal.

Have you noticed something w/ the ratings on dealerrater? For the most part, they suck, and rightly so. Dealers are out for themselves and won't hesitate to rip you off.<br><br>You may wonder why I recommend this dealer. Come here only if you've done all your research, and are determined to make them play by your rules and hard ball to an amazing low price.<br><br>My goal: 400/mo lease for a S2000 that retails for 33K. It was cold, late, end of the month, and convertibles are pilling up in January. The salesguy didn't know the S2000 was rear-drive, and I had to explain to him the specs behind the car. I didn't mind it since he pretty much coached me through my first stick shift experience on this brand new sports car. <br><br>I started by pretenting to buy, shooting for 30K. 30 minutes later we agreed on 30,200. &quot;Changed&quot; my mind to do a lease instead. Argued w/ a poorly communicating lease agent for 2 hours, ending up with me storming out because I knew it does not cost 500/mo to lease a 30K car under those terms. The next day they called back and struck a deal for 396/mo w/ a new lease agent, so I signed it. <br><br>I continued some research and realized that I had gotten a unusually sweet deal. The moral of the story is: Make them play by your rules or you will get played. There is no merce in this business. <br><br>
