My Review of Rusnak Arcadia Mercedes-Benz Center:
On Friday, March 12th I did a search on the Mercedes Benz website to look for a 2002 Starmarked SLK 32 AMG/// . I found a silver car in Arcadia California at Rusnak Mercedes. I phoned the internet manager at Rusnak and made a deal with him to buy the car.

On Wednesday, March 17th I flew to Los Angeles, briefly looked at it and thought it looked gorgeous. I paid for the car and drove it back to my home in Stockton CA.

On Friday, March 19th I brought the car into a local shop to have side body moldings installed. These moldings are made by Mercedes as an accessory for the car and come pre-painted in colors to match the car color[Mercedes Part # Q669-0038]. Before he began to install the moldings, the shop owner informed me that he had noticed that both doors, both rear quarter panels, the right front fender and the hood had been repainted. The left rear tail light lens had a big gouge in its plastic cover, the windshield was pitted in a number of places, probably caused by the car being driven in a sand storm. Three of the tires on the car were Michelins but one was a Yokohama, a left side cover panel in the trunk was missing. I had not been informed of any of this by the salesman.

On Saturday I brought the car to a body shop recommended by the Local MBZ dealer. The cost to re-paint the car and to replace the windshield came to $5750.00.

After speaking to Brian Beatt, A Rusnak vice president he agreed to take the car back, refund all of my money including travel expenses This has been done.

Today, April 6, 2004 I noticed that the car is again for sale as a Starmark car on the MBZ Starmark website with no mention of the paint problem. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Allen Chase alchase@covad.net
