First of all, I'd like to start by stating that the Sales Staff is wonderful to work with as is the service department for the most part, which is why I've purchased so many cars at this dealership. My issu Staff is wonderful to work with as is the service department for the most part, which is why I've purchased so many cars at this dealership. My issue is their customer service in terms of policies with obvious manufacturer defects or procedures. Here is the issue. I have 2021 Honda HR-V with an odometer/fuel gauge that has stopped displaying or which displays all garbled and unreadable, which is a very common if you read any of the HR-V forums online, but my car is just out of the 36,000 mile warranty (which I would not know because I have no odometer!), and apparently, Honda dealerships do not repair issues related to obvious manufacturer defects outside of the warranty range without an official recall from Honda corporate or a huge diagnostic/repair fee. So basically, I have a 2021 Honda HR-V with no fuel gauge and odometer, which leaves me no way to tell how far we've driven, and no way to repair this obvious manufacturer' s defect other than "out of pocket" or waiting for an official recall, which could be years down the road. I communicated with Honda corporate over the phone, but was given the very political answer about three times stating "Sir, I don't see any recalls for that issue", which means, "Sir, we have no plans to fix it and are going to deny knowing about the problem, even though it appears to be a common issue on the HR-V Forums". By making this post, I hope that it helps others having the same issue by providing information for them that this issue is not as uncommon as they will make it sound, and that it is obviously a known issue with the HR-V. Below is just a couple of the links to HR-V forum's with threads about this mysterious issue that Honda has never seen or heard of, and a recent NHTRA number (with synopsis) for this mysterious issue that has apparently never occurred before in a Honda HR-V. The thread includes pictures from other individuals having the same Honda service experience that I am: https://www.hrvforum.com/threads/display-flickering-showing-and-not-showing-milage-gas-gauge-time-temp-etc.42064/ https://www.hrvforum.com/threads/odometer-display-issue.41522/ March 5, 2021 NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11399291 Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NHTSA ID Number: 11399291 Incident Date March 5, 2021 Consumer Location BEL AIR, MD Vehicle Identification Number 3CZRU5H37KG**** Summary of Complaint CRASHN 0 FIREN 0 INJURIES 0 DEATHS 0 THE DASH GAUGE INCLUDING THE FUEL GAUGE BLANKS OUT DISPLAY INTERMITTENTLY IN COOLER WEATHER WHILE DRIVING. I needed a car within two days, I searched all over the Internet and couldn’t find anything, finally somehow I found a Honda CVR, just what I was looking for, at Sam Boswell Honda, I looked the map and i Internet and couldn’t find anything, finally somehow I found a Honda CVR, just what I was looking for, at Sam Boswell Honda, I looked the map and it was almost three hours away, I decided to take the chance, I sent a text, someone who’s last name was Ortiz answered, I told him, I’m coming. Whenever I got there he was waiting and for some reason he recognized me right away, Ortiz was a very helpful, knowledgeable and very nice, I can say that I never had a sales man being like him, I give him a 5+, I decided to buy the car and the guy who did the paper work was also a very nice young man and I give him a 5+, I was very pleased with the purchase, very fair price, I’m enjoying my Honda CVR! Thank you Sam Boswell Honda! More
Bought a used Tundra from this location today. Amber, Nigel, and Max were so awesome that I want to have them over to my house for BBQ and a beer. One of the best car buying experiences I’ve had. This was the most pleasant car-buying experience I've ever had... and I've bought a lot of cars. I found several I was interested in online, spoke to salesman Donald Malot about them via phone, and got ever had... and I've bought a lot of cars. I found several I was interested in online, spoke to salesman Donald Malot about them via phone, and got out-the-door price quotes before ever leaving home. The prices were fair which negated back-and-forth haggling--my least favorite thing about car shopping. That was a pleasant and welcome surprise. When we arrived at Sam Boswell Honda, Donald stood waiting with the three vehicles we wanted to see. He was friendly, professional and patient throughout the entire process and studiously avoided all the common practices I dislike. It was an amazing experience and I won't settle for less in the future. We'd contacted Sam Boswell Honda on our daughter's recommendation-- this is her go-to car dealer--and I now know why. Based on our experience, it's easy to highly recommend! More
WORST experience we’ve ever had. We went to Sam Boswell Honda to look at a Honda Odyssey and trade in our vehicle. We didn’t agree on the trade in value of our car. KBB WAS $2000 more dollars. They initial Honda to look at a Honda Odyssey and trade in our vehicle. We didn’t agree on the trade in value of our car. KBB WAS $2000 more dollars. They initially offered us $2500 less then KBB. Our request was based on KBB, Carfax and Carvana and at a time when used cars are selling for top dollar. Our sales person, Kendall was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and answering all of our questions and doing her best. The problem we had was when the sales manager JAMIE CHRISTIAN came to the table. After telling him we would like more for our vehicle or if he could budge on his price of the used vehicle he became irrational and making a scene in front of the whole sales room. I guess he doesn’t like to negotiate things (his words “I don’t know what this going back and forth stuff is”) but isn’t that part of buying cars? If we weren’t able to come to a deal, then we understood that. It was how irate he got when we didn’t agree to the deal he was trying to give us. At the end he throws his hands in the air and starts raising his voice looking at everyone around us and shouting “was I rude, was I rude, was I rude”. At this point we were extremely embarrassed and calmly said that’s okay we will try somewhere else. Packed our three small children up and left. So if you would like a positive car buying experience please stay away from Sam Boswell and especially stay away from Jaime. More
Not a very professional service department, guarantee used vehicles they advertise are not upheld nor are phone calls returned and you're spoken to as a child by "Service department". Upon leaving from v used vehicles they advertise are not upheld nor are phone calls returned and you're spoken to as a child by "Service department". Upon leaving from vehicle purchase major issue and left in the dark on resolution. Navigation miraculously didn't work after service, leaving dealership (not even the major issue) so I called back on my way home and was told to "use my phone's navigation like a normal person". knowing a thing or two since engineering was my military and civilian profession i.e. PO2 Damage Controlman US Navy / Quality Control Engineer for Hyundai, I was able to self diagnose and SD card wasn't fully inserted. Any real Service Associate should know troubleshooting methods and measures. Gillian GMC is outstanding and will go the extra mile for their customers who pay their salaries unlike here where it's the typically butt kissing to sale, paid, then you're treated horribly. Expect everyone to tell you a different policy, because this dealership will. Buy here/pay here lots give you a better experience than this place will. More

It was very nice and they have complimentary fountain drinks, coffee, and popcorn. Josh P. was our sales consultant and he is very knowledgeable and professional. He had no problem answering our questions and we learned about all of the new features with Pilots. With the help of their sales manager Max J., we were able to negotiate an excellent deal. These guys really went above and beyond, even locating a rare color combo that my wife wanted and they had it there the next day, ready for delivery. We highly recommend Sam Boswell Honda! Great job! Is just ok service, just ok? Brought my car here today for a recall service and a warranty service. Ten days have elapsed between me coming into the dealership and my appointment. Brought my car here today for a recall service and a warranty service. Ten days have elapsed between me coming into the dealership and my appointment. Despite two email confirmations of my service appointment, a service advisor (Carla) said it was my responsibility to check before arrival that the parts had come in. Really? Then she (Carla) told me I didn’t have a confirmed appointment because my service advisor was not here that day. She never even checked to see if my parts had come in. They had. She refused to help me and pushed me off on to another service advisor who could not find any of my paperwork from “my” service advisor. Then he tried to explain that this was my fault for not communinicating with “my” service advisor about scheduling service on his day off, but they would “try to work me in”. Eight hours later I was told that my car was ready. Really? They were supposed to wash it, but it looked like they only threw a bucket of dirt water on it. I asked the service advisor to have it washed again and he said, it was ok, and that’s as good as it gets. Really? A one year old Accord covered in dirt-water was as good as it gets? He told me there was nobody to wash it and that I would have to wait (over an hour now) to have it washed. I hope it is better than, “ok”. I hope my recall and warranty service are better than “ok”. Sad that today at Sam Boswell “ok” seems to be good enough. I have been purchasing Honda’s here for almost 30 years and this xxxx-poor service is definitely NOT ok! I guess I will have to take my business elsewhere, because when I expressed my displeasure all the could say, was “ok”. Really? More
