"HORRIBLE "

Purchased a 2003 Mercedes Benz c-240 from Select Imports in 2530 Airline Blvd. Portsmouth 23701. Which I will never, never go back there or deal with Sharon and Sheryl Coutinho. The call broke down after a week of driving it. When I called the dealer they acted like they didn't know me. Sharon, told me to take it to a mechanic and us my warranty. When I did and the warranty didn't cover the item, she told me to pay for it and send her the receipt and the company would reimburse me. That was a lie! Sharon then told me that I should have took the car back to Select and since I didn't do that they were not going to give me my money back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! BAD CARS!

"I went in to look at a car; it wouldn't even start. I was..."

I went in to look at a car; it wouldn't even start. I was shown another car, but quickly spotted several minor mechanical problems. Joseph promised to have them fixed and call me back by noon the next day. My wife and I called 4 times before getting hold of him. He told us that he wasn't sure of the status of the car and would call us back in an hour. An hour and a half later, we called back since we hadn't heard from him. He had already left for the day. The next day, I went back in to find out about the car and talked to the sales manager. He tried to sell it to me without a passing inspection and tack on a $500 dealership fee. No thank you. Quickly passed on that and moved on to look for a car elsewhere.

"Wow....and I thought it was just me. My husband and I..."

Wow....and I thought it was just me. My husband and I purchased a Black on black Lexus LS 460 in August 2010. I was searching online for a vehicl and ran across Showcase Imports. I was impressed witht he website and was anxious to find my "dream car". I called Ms. Parker and inquired about a white LS 460L which was on the website, she informed me that that car was sold, but there were more to choose from. The following day, I drove to the dealership and settled for a black 460. Unfortunately the car needed some cleaning up to the sound of an oil change (the light was on), did not have floor mats and two tires had knots in them. First they told me I coud pick my car up by 230p on Friday. We drove from richmond and had to sit there until 530p before the car was returned to lot and the change oil signage in dashboard was still on. We took the car and Janice promised me that someone would come and pick up the car and get the tires changed. My husband and I took the vehicle to Lexus of Richmond and had them service the vehicle and they found that the vehicle was involved in some type of collision and the front end needed to be repaired. I contacted Ms. Parker and she checked with Mr. Williams and they agreed to pay the bill, which she did. She would not allow the dealership to purchase the tires and told me and my husband that she would replace them. We dropped the car back off to them and they gave me rental. One week later I called and the car still was not ready. I drove to the dealership and demanded my vehicle. My vehicle was returned to me with two different set of tires. It took until October 2010 for me to receive my tags and that was after my lending institution called demanding the title for the car. I really wished maybe I had read some of these comments prior to purchasing from this dealership. The young lady who posted from NC. You were just blessed. Blessdnot to have to experience the heart ache that we have.

"Purchase my dream car and paid cash for it only to learn..."

Purchase my dream car and paid cash for it only to learn the company has been shut down. Owner Virgil WilLiams and Vice President Janice Parker has defraud me out of my Title and 23K+. with deceptive and misleading practice for self gain. My 30 day tags has expired and my dream car has turned into a nightmare. All I can do now is look at it. I paid for this vehicle cash, I have paid all state taxes and fees to Showcase Imports -Virgil Williams & Janice Parker to get Title and Plates yet they gave me the run around up until the time they were shut down. Now DMV is telling me I would have to pay those fees again due to they never received the money. The Title was never change over to my name. I also learned 15 others were taken as well. Consumer Beware or your Dream Car may become a nightmare. If you are a victim contact DMV Dealer Board at 804 367 1100 and file a complaint in writing. Follow up with Virginia State Attorney General and your local DMV to see what other steps you can take. signed, looking out the window at my dream car that’s turned into a nightmare. All I can do is look :-( no tags no title. Dealer dip.

"I am a buyer from North Carolina. I was referred and..."

I am a buyer from North Carolina. I was referred and encouraged to visit the website by a friend, who had a prior successful purchase from the dealership. Showcase Imports website captured my attention as it displayed elegance with a pristine look, as well as their reasonable prices. I was able to view and search for inventory on line, which minimized travel and less time spent on site. While visiting the dealership, I was greeted with professionalism and a spirit of excellence. Customer service was outstanding from my initial experience in finding and purchasing my dream vehicle. Janice Parker ensured my satisfaction by follow-up and survey of services rendered. In fact, after noticing a censor light, I contacted Ms. Parker to make her aware. Ms. Parker immediately had a driver from the dealership to pick my car up for servicing, while providing me with a rental car. After two months of purchasing my vehicle, Ms. Parker notified me of a scratch on the bumper of my car, which I had not noticed. The dealership had someone on staff to pick the car up, provided me with a rental, and returned the car within two business days. I appreciated the honesty and integrity of the dealership. In addition, I inquired about the servicing of an oil change approximately ninety days after the purchase of my car. I received service without any additional charge, along with a free rental car. I was impressed at the fact that they traveled to me, approximately 80 miles one way, on three separate occasions to ensure my satisfaction as a buyer. My experience has been total satisfaction. Showcase Imports has established a client for all future purchases. I am impressed that after 17 years of service, I was only able to find two listings that were not satisfied with the services of this dealership, which leads doubt in my mind of the accuracy of those two negative reviews. Thank you and God’s continued blessings.

"Good Day To All, I purchase a vehicle in August 2009..."

Good Day To All, I purchase a vehicle in August 2009 timeframe and thank God I had it inspected before puchasing it. The vehicle maintenence record was good to go from the dealer. During the inspection the mechanic notice the alarm wouldn't unlock the door and he recommended that i get it fix before purchasing the vehicle. So I inform the female who handle the day to day operation this is what the mechanic saw and she said they would reimburse after I got it fix. Little and behold as of today I haven't heard from her I contacted her several times by e-mail and by the phone. If I really wanted to proceed to court I could have because I have email stating they would pay for it. Sometimes you have to use judgement when dealing with negative energy and let God handle your battle. The word say touch not thou anointing what you put out you will received. Also it took them 40 days to register my plates in the state I live in. May God continue to Bless everyone and I am proclaiming integrity and honesty starting now when someone sets foot on that lot.

"Unfortunately, we purchased a car from Showcase Select..."

Unfortunately, we purchased a car from Showcase Select Imports in September, 2008. We asked many questions about the cars condition from our sales person, and received many reassuring answers. We asked if the car had any damage, scratches or dings, and we were assured the car was in great condition. We were naive enough to purchase without an inspection. Bad, bad, move. The car arrived in terrible condition. It had a creased door panel. It had about a dozen dings. The front bumper had poorly concealed collision damage: it hung unevenly, had been poorly repainted with paint drips showing. Also, the rear bumper had been collision damage and the lower cover was hanging. The rear quarter panel had been heavily damaged and poorly repaired, The car had a damaged and poorly repaired wheel and a leaky tire. The car will require $6000 in repairs to make it right. After directing us to get an assessment by our local Mercedes dealer, the owner, Virgil Williams, denied any responsibility for the vehicles poor condition. They denied the assessment of the Mercedes certified body shop here in Delaware, and told us that they would need an assessment from their body shop in Virginia which is 250 miles away. They would not help in getting the car repaired. After struggling with them and getting no reassurances, we decided not to throw good money after bad. We are coping with the car's issues ourselves. Be VERY WARY if you visit this dealer. DO NOT PURCHASE WITHOUT AN INSPECTION BY A TRAINED MECHANIC.
