My Review of South Valley Auto Wholesale:
I had been looking for a used Acura and Honda, and from South Valley's website they seemed like a good bet. The dealership almost exclusively sells used Acuras and Hondas. I went because many of the cars seemed in my price range and were under 100k miles. However, my overall time there was the absolute worst I have ever experienced at a car dealership.
First the salesman wouldn't let me test drive the car because I didn't have insurance (um, aren't dealers supposed to carry insurance on their cars?). He relented only when I told him I couldn't buy something I couldn't drive.
He said he had no maintenance records for many of the cars he sold. Had the brakes, tires, radiator, timing belt been replaced? Important questions to answer on a used car with 60k or 80k miles, no?. When I asked to take one car I was interested in to a local mechanic for inspection, he wouldn't let me.
I was seeking to finance the car, but he complained it would take him "two weeks to get a check"...he wanted to go with his financing, at a higher interest rate, and a higher down payment. All the while his prices were "non-negotiable."
Overall, not the kind of place I want to deal with, even if I was interested in the car. Guess he wasn't interested in selling, either.
