My Review of Sovereign Mercedes-Benz:
Took in our SL for a/c service and a banging noise from underneath. Cutomer service rep was no too friendly. In her defense she was very pregnant at the time so maybe that was a factor. Anyway I almost walked out as she's going over a/c issue saying that it may not be fixed the first time around due to so many things that can go wrong with it. So in essence i was to pay for them to charge the a/c system and then come back when it stopped working again so they could see where the die was leaking from, and charge me again for the repair. As it turns out they found the defect and it has been working fine so far. So there was no need for the prior comments from the rep. As far as the loud banging from underneath, the repair guy took it for a 7 mile drive on brooklyn streets and the best he came up with was 'Noise coming from roof. Customer did not compliain about this.' I picked up the car and only went a few blocks and there was the banging again. So the mechanic was either lazy or incompetemt. I overcame my temptation to go back and i will use someone else to fix this. On a positive note they do offer you breakfast while the car is in for servicing. Although the following does not pertain to the dealership directly it should be mentioned. Enterprise has an office on the premises and quite frankly the two guys working in there had the worse attitude i have ever seen for service people. All in all a negative experience. Goes to show you that you can spend alot of money on a car and still have substandard service and substandard attitude. I will not go back there.
UPDATE. Took the car to a reputable recommended local mechanic. Car went on lift and problem diagnosed in no time. The problem was the flex disc. Parts were $135 plus labor. So to sum up: took the car to a mercedes dealer that fixes these cars all day long and best they could do is say that the problem was coming from the roof. Took it to a local machanic and problem found. Unbelievable.
