My Review of Sturgill:
I went into Sturgill's to test drive the new Caliber to get a feel for it. When I arrived on the lot a salesman came around the corner and without introducing himself, asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted to test drive the Caliber and he went to get the keys.
When I got into the car, my father asked if the salesman wanted to go with us. His reply? "That's what insurance and the cops are for." The worst part about it was that he seemed to be serious!
When I returned to the dealer after testing the car, the salesman never came outside. He stayed inside, right where I could see him browsing the Internet and ignoring his customer. After a few minutes of standing outside my father and I went into the sales room and handed the man the keys. He barely looked up and said thanks. At this point I could have left and I don't think he would have even cared. So I tried to fire up some conversation, which he was answering in very short answers like he couldn't be bothered. I then asked to test drive the Jeep Compass. His response to this was "it's the same car." Regardless of the fact that the 2 cars are based on the same platform, you NEVER tell your customer that the car that costs $3000 more is the same as the cheaper model, and even then you should let them test drive what they want.
Considering I could have easily afforded anything on the lot, being treated like a penniless bum is frustrating and angering to say the least.
After another 5 minutes of this I left the dealer. I will NEVER return to Sturgill's again, despite my having purchased my last car there, my brother purchasing his and also my mother purchasing hers there.
I'm now the extremely happy owner of a Subaru.
