My Review of Tate MINI:
Like the car not the svc dept. Went down there in Jan and was told that over half of the items I asked about were not on the service schedule and would not be looked at. I've had problems with my windshield (windscreen) wipers and washer since day one. The washer isn't working but it is such a pain to deal with those people I'm doing without. They wouldn't rotate my tires. I bought a set somewhere else.

My Review of Tate MINI:
Unfortunately are 3 hours each way from the closest dealership...we now know that once you take your new MINI in for service &/or to have repairs...there are no loaner cars availabale to you & you will wait in their dealership for hours upon end for your car to be serviced. But you can only find this out after being passed off to service person after service person after service person via phone (& no 800 number listed anywhere).

Amazing...after years of owning Honda, Mercedes Benz & the like (who have ALWAYS provided a loaner car during service & repairs)...never have I dealt with such imbeciles. However, this is my mother's MINI & after spending a full day back & forth on the phone with their dealership trying to help her...I wouldn't own one if they were free!

I wonder in MINI of America is aware just how these dealerships are operating under their logo...doubt they care from the remarks Russ Rhodes (service dept.) made to me when I asked him how he thought MINI felt about the fact that they had people purchasing new cars & then being shafted when it comes to service & purchase of parts after the sale.

Not very nice people at Tate MINI in Annapolis MD.

My Review of Tate MINI:
My purchase experience was okay, although Darrin was not terribly knowledgeable and admitted that most prospective buyers know more than him. When I took delivery of the car, it did not have the bonnet stripes I had ordered, and it had numerous swirl marks (scratches) on it that for some reason they hadn't noticed. I had to take the car home and make an appointment for 10 days later to bring the car back and leave it overnight (30 mile drive).

When I picked up the car the second time, it had spent two days there. It was returned to me not only dirty on the outside (they said the stripes had to set for 72 hours so they couldn't wash it - okay), but it also had mud on the inside, all across the threshold, on the upholstery, on the seat adjuster knob, and it needed to be vacuumed. The service department apologized but I'm still extremely disappointed that they would hand my brand new car over to me looking like that. I called the next morning and left a message for the salesman, but he never returned my call. I eventually spoke with the general manager who promised they would detail the car the next time I have it in for service.

Finally, the person who handled my DMV paperwork included a copy of my friend's drivers license with mine, so the DMV put both of our names on my title and reigstration. Now my new car is registered to someone who doesn't own it.

Not impressive service for a BMW dealership.

My Review of Tate MINI:
I would recommend them because I live in Delaware. The closest Mini dealer is Tate in Annapolis; about 2 hours. When I got serious about buying one (thought I did), I talked to Darren Fowler. He was good. Not the warm fuzzy car dealer you'd LIKE to have (is there actually one of those?), but he was cool. Called back later drooling over them. Talked to Alexis. She was VERY nice. Told her how much I LOVED the Mini, but wasn't in the position to buy now. Today I went and tempted myself. I drove to Annapolis just to look at them. <rolling eyes> Thought I'd died and gone to heaven. There were Mini's everywhere............ anyway, I met Alexis. She remembered me and what I'd told her. She wasn't pushy or a typical sales person at all. I would definately go back there if she was my sales person. Everyone here that has complained has actually gone thru with the buying process. Kinda' scares me away. There's another Mini dealership in Baltimore. Further away, but I'd prefer better service than worry about miles. Sorry you all had bad experiences. Hopefully when I get serious about buying one, Tate will have wised up to their mishaps? <LOL> They must be doing SOMETHING right, they're still in business.

My Review of Tate MINI:
1) Have no idea about options (repeatedly had to point them to MINI web site to prove option availability).
2) Service department always wants to get you out the door. My MINI was towed in, and a part was damaged in the process. I asked to have it replace (towed by MINI roadside assistance), and service forgot to do it. Immediate claim was the part should have been removed during delivery anyway. Walked to new car show room and pointed to the part on each car they had. They agreed it needed to be installed, but refused to give me the part for self intall, refused to install it on the spot, and required a new appointment. I live 40 miles away, so I bought the part at another dealer and installed it myself.

They wouldn't have a customer if the MINI wasn't in such high demand.
