Reason for Visit: Sales
I recommend this dealer: No
My Review of Tate:
Tate BMW should be shut down. Dealing with this place was the WORST experience of my life. Not only would I not recommend dealing with these clowns, I would propose that you not even drive by the place, for fear that you might somehow contract the ignorance and stupidity that vehemently thrives within their walls.
I have used them for service and warranty sales. I was a moron. Horrible. Not only are they outrageously expensive, the customer service rivals that of a fast food restaurant where the employees have just been told they won't get paid no matter how hard they work. Its a bunch of guys walking around, looking pretty, who know absolutely NOTHING about BMWs (just that getting money = good for them, like puppets).
Tried using the "internet appointment" option, along with "contact us by email." Don't do that...they don't check it. And when I set up my appts, they screwed them up...twice. And they don't call you back.
I purchased my '06 3 series in Germany. When I told them that, they looked at me like I had three heads and attempted to prove that my car wasn't covered under the 4 year warranty deal. Took them TWO MONTHS to establish the fact that I WAS covered, at which point they finally agreed to treat it as warranty service.
I'm not a snob...I'm actually a simple, middle income guy who had an opportunity to buy a nice car. I don't expect much. But if you provide a service, please know your job...just a little bit. For a DC/Annapolis area dealership that represents one of the elite in the auto industry, BMW should be thoroughly embarrassed that "Tate" is on the same sign as "BMW."
Bottom line...I wouldn't step foot on the property that Tate BMW owns if I had a gun to my head! Go to Passport, got to Russell, travel to the ends of the earth, but DO NOT GO TO TATE! I will make it a life goal to spread the word. No one should have to endure the pain that I went through just to have a car worked on.
