Reason for Visit: Service

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Thoroughbred Motorcars Inc:
Nice sales department, lousy service department. These guys get you in the door and then treat you like a piece of garbage. You need to bed them for a loaner car, they don't call you and tell you the status of your car, and it is a hit and miss with getting service done right the first time. I had to call Porsche US to get things straightened since the service experience was so bad. These guys have a monopoly on Porsche warrnaty service in Nashville, so you are at their mercy and they take full advantage of that fact.

Reason for Visit: Sales

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Thoroughbred Motorcars Inc:
When we arrived, a salesperson named Jeff introduced himself and asked to help us through the process. The next words out of my mouth were "Jeff we saw the lease special on the Audi website and that deal is the only thing we are interested in today, is there a car on the lot that qualifies for these lease terms.

He returned with was a full 57% higher than the advertised lease rate ($549 a month vs. $349 a month) as was the required down payment. I met with Jeff and asked him to justify the large discrepancy and he said the difference was taxes and tags. At that point I flat out said "if you are telling me there is a $200 monthly charge for taxes and tags then I am leaving." Jeff responded that the car was different from the one on the website and that accounted for the additional cost. Jeff then said he would ask his sales manager and left. 10-15 minutes later Jeff returned with some new numbers. The new deal was $419 a month on the advertised $349 month. I stated that if he would show me the details of the payment, basically I was asking if the difference was due to taxes or other acceptable fees. Jeff and I proceeded to walk back to his desk when I asked if this was a car they had on the lot and he said no it would have to be ordered. I then asked when it would arrive. Jeff stated that I would have to give a non-refundable deposit and then he would call his "Audi" guy and see when delivery could be arranged. I simply asked Jeff to get me an ETA from his "Audi" guy before a placed a non-refundable deposit, his answer was dumbfounding. Jeff stated "That is not how we do business!" I told him there was no way I was giving them a non-refundable deposit until I had a firm ETA. I told him that was a deal killer and Jeff said very rudely "It has been a pleasure". At this point as a customer I asked to speak to his manager to voice my displeasure with the entire sequence of events.

Another man standing around the room identified himself as the "owner" and the next words out of his mouth were, "I have listened to you run your mouth for 30 minutes and I am sick of it we do not want your business leave now or I will call the Berry Hill police department". We overlooking the fact that he was incorrect on the premise of listening to me "run my mouth" I can tell you I was quite surprised. I attempted to explain the situation since this person has not been in attendance at any prior discussions. I told him then and there that his dealership had bad business ethics and was trying to pull a bait and switch. He again insulted me by saying that I could not possible understand the numbers and how they arrived at the initially inflated price. I said that if he could sit down and defend his price (which Jeff never did) I would by the car at his price. We he obviously was in no mood to defend what can not be defended because the next thing he does is call me a redneck. I will admit that I may have disparaged his English accent but that was all (and I think after all of his abuse justified). In disbelief I left the facility and started my car. As I pulled forward to enter 8th Avenue there was a Berry Hill Police Officer talking with him. I exited the car to speak with the officer and explain the situation. Basically I told him that the guy was trying to prove how much influenced he wielded and wasted the their time, the office laughed and agreed with me after learning the details. He told me thanks for my patience and to have a nice day.

The dealership was trying to pull the most blatant 'bait and switch' that I have ever experienced. It is this type of company and these types of people that ruin the reputation and image of the entire auto industry. I am not sure what action can be taken but I will do all I can to notify others of their dishonest behavior.
