My Review of Tom Bush VW:
My Jetta was damaged in an car crash on 5/8. I drove it to Tom Bush Collision on 5/13 and the other party in the crash took liability for the crash so State Farm handled the claim. After 45 days( and calling every other day for the past 2 weeks to follow up) I went to pick up the car and deliver the insurance checks. Considering the damage it was much too long and the rental car reimbursement had run out. After signing over the checks I went outside to get the car and the car was not fixed properly (Trunk did not line up, bumper was not on properly, paint problems, front hood seams were wrong). I showed them and they assured me that they would take care of it. They gave me a loaner car. However, In the loaner car I was hit by a accident . They immediately wanted payment arrangements for it with a sense of urgency that was completely lacking when dealing with my car's repairs. On 7/20 I called and they told me that the body work was done but the car would not shift out of 1st gear so they were sending over to the vw mechanic to take care of that. Then on August 4 the shop called me and told me my car was done but I could not pick it up until I got state farm to pay $147.12. They wanted me to get in the middle of their dealings with the insurance company where I have no business being. I called state farm and they said that Tom Bush collision had been paid $340 more than was approved in the supplementals and Tom Bush owed them money.
Long story short I took my car to Tom Bush collision almost 3 months ago and they won't let me have my car back till I pay $147.12 even though it is not my personal insurance policy that is paying for the repairs. 45 days was to be expected but the next 45 days of having my car in that shop has been a nightmare. I have had auto body work done on my car before and it was a simple process that did not take nearly as long despite being a larger estimate. I have no confidence in this shop. Even having a warranty worries me because of the time it takes for them to get anything done. I thought that using the VW dealership would be the best option but it turned out to be a mistake.
