My Review of Tom O'Brien Hyundai of Quincy:
I have had my 2002 Hyundai Accent (36,700) towed to Tom O'Brien Hyundai, Danvers 3 times since 11/06 because it won't start in cold weather. Several parts were replaced, to no avail. In the meantime, I have been car-less for 19 days while this problem persisted. Despite the inconvenience, the worst part of this ordeal has been the rude, inconsiderate behavior I have been subjected to by the service and general managers of the Danvers dealership. Their recurring war cry has been shouted at me innumerable times--"What do you want us to do about it? We can't duplicate the problem! You don't understand!" (Did I mention that I am female?) Contacting President Tom O'Brien was no help; he only echoed their words and suggested I take the car elsewhere. Whatever happened to a customer's right to polite, courteous service?
On 1/10/07 (after the car would not start yet again), Mr. O'Brien finally agreed to have the factory try to figure out a diagnosis that eluded his employees. On 1/15/06, the car was returned to me after a new crank shaft sensor had been installed. Funny, that part was replaced 7/06 after my car had a total system failure and just stopped running while I was driving locally (thankfully, not on a highway).
My advice--stay away from a Tom O'Brien dealership, if you want to purchase a Hyundai. They will pull out all the stops to sell you a car, however, fair, courteous treatment is not part of their extended warranty.
