My Review Of Toyota Center:
I purchased a vehicle from this dealership, a 2007 Ford Mustang GT which I liked very much. My original communication had been via Internet and I have no complaints from that aspect as the Internet Customer Service was excellent. Based on that experience, I drove right at a hundred miles to look at the vehicle, which I did purchase. On-site, everyone was friendly and courteous and we reached an agreement on price, interest rate and I thought, financial institution. However, approximately two weeks later when I received my first payment notice - the notice came from a different bank whose name had never been brought up during negotiations - a bank which I absolutely refuse to deal with in any way, shape, form or fashion.
When I called the dealership about this I was told to look at my paperwork - which I did - and found that the bank's name had been rubber stamped at the very bottom of one single piece of paper. It may have been there when I signed the papers but I never noticed it. If I had I never would have signed the papers. Now I can't honestly say that the name had not been there all along because I did not read every word of every line on every piece of paper - but I can honestly say this, the name of the bank in question never came up, not one single time, during the entire purchasing process.
Since only one bank had been discussed I assumed that was the bank we were dealing with. However we all know what happens when we assume.
I was speaking with the person who had drew up the paperwork and, when I explained the situation, was basically told "That's the way it is - live with it." Those are not the exact words but that was the short and long of it.
I had left a message for the owner earlier and he did call me back. I explained to him what had happend and he said he couldn't promise me anything but he would see what could be worked out and get back with me that afternoon. Two days later I still have not heard back from him.
Should I have read every single line on every sheet of paper? Most definitely - but few people do. Should the dealership have made sure that all terms of the loan were understood, especially the name of the financial instution that the loan was coming from - again - most definitely.
I have since rectifide the situation by arranging for my own finanacing however, will I do business with this dealership again, or recommend them to anyone else - most definitely not.
