My Review of Toyota of Turnersville:
Stopped into the parts department on Saturday 9/6 to get some suspension and brake parts for my 2001 Camry and transmission fluid and filter my sister-in-law's 2006 Scion tC. Got up to the parts counter and nobody was there, figured parts guy must be in the bathroom or something. Waited for a few minutes before announcing myself; nothing. Called out to someone again; nothing. Decided to go to the receptionist desk and she sat there giving me dirty looks.(looked & talked like she belonged "in da hood" rather than a professional place like a Toyota showroom.) I was a little irritated by this time so I went back and knocked on the counter and said quite loudly "Yo! Customer up here!" and still no one came to assist me. 30 seconds later, a guy with a long brown beard and shaved head (later found out his name was Sonny) comes out of the side door from the parts department and walks right past me like I wasn't there. I announced quite loudly "I guess nobody wants my business!" and walked away quite annoyed.
Went to Toyota of Runnemede to get the parts I needed and as soon as I walked in the door, the parts representative greeted me like I was one of his buddies from home. I told him that I needed quite a bit of stuff and he assured me that it was no problem. He spent the next 45 minutes with me looking up everything I needed. I had to order a few things but allowed me to pay for everything there and helped me carry everything out to my car. I was happy that I got what I needed and they were happy to have $529 worth of parts gone from their shelves.
I called Toyota of Turnersville and left a message for their General Manager, and to their credit, their parts manager, Mr. Jeff King called me back to apologize for the manner in which I was treated and asked me for another chance. Much appreciated but not likely. Jeff was a nice guy and showed a lot of integrity calling me up, but Sonny Boy ruined that for them.
I'm going to be purchasing a 2009 Camry by the end of this month, so I'll make sure that I let Toyota Motor Sales and Runnemede and Turnersville Toyota know what happened on the survey.
As for Turnersville's management, they need to reeducate 'ol Sonny Boy in how to properly greet and treat customers and leave the weed up his ass at home. If they don't, I'm sure the NJ Department of Labor will when he's standing in line for unemployment. Trust me, when I get the new car survey, I'll make sure I mention him by name when I let them know why I didn't shop at Turnersville.
