My Review of Toyota of Watertown:
(They SEEMED friendly, all spring & summer, but now I know it's FAKE friendly, so that's why I put "1" above.)
Summary: They were not truthful with me & strung me along. They wasted 5 months of my time. I put $1000 down on May 4, 2006, with a 4-6-week delivery promise (that's what he said-- on my contract/receipt he wrote ASAP). I ORDERED a specific car & it seems to me they never placed the order. My salesman was a liar. I've called him often in these 5 months. He made up crap like, my car has been made, it's over in Japan, and they need to wait until they sell 5 more Prius (not just any Toyota-- needs to be 5 more Prius) in order to ship them over. (Then why couldn't he give me the vin number? He said he did not have it yet.) He said "definitely" & "of course" when I asked him about delivery dates, since I was watching the Sept. 30 tax credit deadline. He thanked me for my patience, he said he was sorry, he said if it was up to him, I'd have my car by now. He strung me along, week by week, all summer. "We're getting the next allocation next week. Yours will be in that one, I'm sure. I'll call you next week." He did not call me when he said he would. That's just rude. In early August, I asked, "Are you going to call me, whether you know anything new or not?" Yes. Okay, I'll keep my phone on. He did not call. I called him & told him he should not say he was definitely going to call if he did not intend to. So, then, in early September, he said, "I'll definitely call you on Friday to let you know what I find out." I confirmed, "So you are really going to call me?" He loves that word "definitely." He did not call. Just last week, when I asked him why he did not just tell me it might be a long wait, instead of telling me every time, "Could be tomorrow." The manager, Alex, (described accurately as militaristic with no smile by someone else in this thread), in the background said, in that condescending tone men love to use on women, "Well if she did not want Silver Pine Mica package 4, she would have had her car by now." Criticizing me for my choice is just great. I asked directly, (I was direct in every conversation & they were vague in every conversation), "Did you even place the order for my car?" And they reiterated that the car is hard to get. I got my $1000 back yesterday (well, they said a credit to my visa would take 72 hours) & I wasted my time being on their waiting list.
