My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
I owned a 2003 Honda Pilot that I had purchased from another dealer. However I was getting tired of the gas prices. (The V6 guzzled gas like water...) I went to the dealership in look of a new 2007 vehicle. I originally looked at the civic, but I was so upside down in my loan that the sales man urged me to look at an Accord because they hold thier value better.

I was a little nervous, because I was worried about price. Our test drive of both the civic and accord was a pleasant experience, non pushy and very relaxed. When we got back to the dealership the salesman brought us back to his office and we discussed a deal. They did roll my payoff into the new loan, everything was explained upfront. I felt as thought that was the type of customer service I was looking for. I never felt forced, however I did feel encouraged to consider the Accord for the reasons they explained to me. My wife and I prefered the Accord anyway, due to the quality of the interior.

We drove away in a new 2007 Accord with all our questions answered and were smiling! I love this dealership and would recommend it to anyone I know. They told me yes when other dealer said NO! That is a big deal. They even got me finanaced throught Amercian Honda Finance, something no other dealership could do, they waned to try a place me with no name or smaller banks ( I felt uncomfortable with that) They also reduced the interest rate that I had on my previous vehicle. I couldn't as for more!

As far as the price, I feel like I could have gotten more for my trade, but according to Kelly Blue Book values, it was very fair to the market, and that was good.

I didnt have to fight to not get the digisheild, or the tinted windows that I didn't want, I just got on straight off the truck!

I am a very satisfied customer

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
Me and my wife had a very bad experience with vandergriff Honda in Arlington Texas. Ron the internet sales manager was very rude and he did not have the EXL with Nav & RES in Siler color. We SPECIFICALLY told him that we are willing to wait for a few weeks for his inventory. In spite of this he convinced us on a touring model and he mentioned he would SLASH the price on this particular model. After 3 hours of negotiating we agreed to a 33,000.00 on a Touring and he stepped out. Me and my wife was amazed about the word (price SLASH), after a few minutes, his internet director came (meanwhile, Ron escaped from the scene) and stated Sir, I can locate a EXL with Nav & Res in a nearby dealership. We said that we were negotiating all this 3 hours on the touring. He stated that, It was not correct. We stormed out of the dealership upset and had a very bad experience. I will definitely pass this along to all my friends whom i know of. currently I have chosen to go with Sienna. I cannot imagine that a famous & reputed Car maker like Honda will do such a kind of thing like this. It is absolutely disappointing.

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
I need a lawyer after dealing with Vandergriff Honda. I have been recieving letters from banks (a total of about 5 or 6 from each institution) in the past month on behalf of Vandergriff Honda saying that my credit has been run. I don't know if you all know what that does to you credit but if you don't it hurts it alot. These letters continue to come in every day about two banks at a time. My advice to you is don't let this be you. And husbands, please don't send your wife to Vandergriff Honda alone. Does anyone know a lawyer who handles these type of situations?

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
I own two Hondas and purchased them from this dealership. I also get them serviced regularly at this dealership.

After sending an e-mail to the internet salesperson - who never replied - I dropped by on the way home from work.

I walked in ready to purchase a new car from them - no financing - a cash deal. However, every car had all these options that I did not want.

The salesman I met with told me that EVERY car had to have Lo-Jack, a sun roof visor and digishield (this plastic crap they put all over it) and that I could not purchase a car without these options.

I asked why and he said that they had a contract with these companies. He also told me that a lot of people didn't like it either. I guess I can believe that since they have cars stacked all over that lot. I told him that I didn't want this stuff whether I paid for it or not and he wished me a good day - said he couldn't sell me a car without it and walked back inside.

I called Honda Motor Corporation and asked if this sounded proper and they told me that the dealers were free to do this if they choose to.

Well guess what - I'm free to go somewhere else too. I hope Honda Motor Corp is happy that Vandergriff drove a loyal Honda customer to TOYOTA. Since I have two kids within two years of driving age, they lost a car a year for the next four years.

Good luck in the future Honda - with dealers like this one you will need it.

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
Bring a spare set of keys! HARD SELL !!! I did quite a bit of research on my trade-in as well as the Element, RAV4 etc I was looking to purchase prior to visiting any dealerships.

I had a voucher from Vandergriff Toyota for $2800 off MSRP, but they were swamped, so I went next door to the Vandergriff Honda Dealership.

While taking a nice test drive and talking to the nice Salesperson Jordan, I explained why I was there, what I expected to pay and how I wanted to finance. So they took my trade-in to get appraised.

My sales guy came back with their offer that was not even in the same zip code as what I could pay, and the financing was not the same. It was if I had wasted my breath telling them what I would do. I told them to bring the keys to my car, I was done. Instead of my keys, he brought Jeff the Sales Mgr over and he proceeded to tell me that that was just part of the negotiating. Most people give in to the deal, so that is what they do. I again requested my keys, as I did not want to deal with people that would do this and waste my time.

They still did not bring my keys, but yet another offer. This one at least was much closer to my requested amount. I said no. Still no keys. But brought back an offer in the middle of what I requested and said would pay off the loan of my trade-in. Reluctantly I agreed and let me wife try out the car before we signed anything. It turns out the Element was not going to work because you could not reach the child seat from the front seat. So they offered a same deal on a base model Pilot.. I thought, now we are getting somewhere. So I took the Pilot and the paperwork home for my wife to sign. It is now close to 10:00 at night. When I get up the next morning, I see that they have rolled my loan from the trade-in into this deal despite what they said about paying it off. I am now upset AGAIN.

I take it back stating now that they have mislead me again, I want my other car back, or I want a EX Pilot with leather for the same deal. They pitched a fit, but would not give me my keys back until they tried to get me to pay more. (I was really just trying to get my old vehicle back) After me turning down 3 more offers of more money, the sales manager stalked off saying "bring him his car."

So finally I start loading my car and my original sales guy comes back and says they can do the Pilot for $5 of what we agreed upon before. Despite my reservations, I took the deal. After I looked at the Pilot, he told me it was going to be $6 more. $1, no big deal right? But over the course of a loan and interest, that is about $50. So I said no, make it the $5 you promised. He said ok. When I got the paperwork, it was $5.99, instead of $6. I ended up taking the deal, as it was a good deal, but I feel like I lost part of me in the process. (and about 10 hours.)

From then on, the sales manager (Jeff) would not even look at me as I finalized the paperwork.

So, if you buy from them, expect to fight for a deal and them accuse you of not being fair and DEFINITELY bring a spare set of keys for your trade-in so you can actually leave if you want to.

Customer service - 1 because of being treated like I was an idiot.
Quality of work - 1 because of what they promised was consistently not what they delivered.
Friendliness - 1 because having a smiling face for 10% of the experience is not enough to rate a "friendly".
Overall Experience - 1 all of the above.
Pricing - 1 even though in the end, it was a good deal, if I had said yes to the previous offers, it would not have been even close to a good price.

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
I wish this site had a zero score, because a one is better than they deserve. They lie to get people in there, keep them waiting for hours, and then send them home saying they have to work on the financing and they will call the next day. They never called back. I had to call repeatedly, only to get the runaround. Finally, I got tired of this and called and spoke with the GM. His name I believe is Charley. Charley sounded interested and said he was going to check in to this and get to the bottom of it for me. He said he would call back in 20 minutes. That has been 3 days ago. I never realized 20 minutes could take so long. He still hasn't called back. Wally, the salesman, who from what I understand is the top salesman at the dealership is nothing but a lowlife dirty lying scumbag. One of these days he is going to screw the wrong person over. After I had filled out an application over the internet, Wally called me and told me that my loan had been approved and he had the check in his hand. He stated that all I had to do was come in and pick out the car I want and I would be out in 45 minutes. Well, after making the hour drive, I arrived, and Wally was conveniently with another customer, so we were passed over to Marvin, talk about worthless, this fat slob had to pass us over to James before the test drive because it was too hot outside for him. Anyway 3 hours later, we are waiting to speak with the finance manager, and I notice a sign in the reception area stating the entire process takes aproximately 5 hours from start to finish. Hmmmm......not what I was told. This company never returns phone calls or call back when they say they are. When you call, they give some Bulls**t about Wally is at lunch this or that. The GM is just as bad. If I didn't have to work and go to school, I would stand in front of the dealership and ward off all potential customers. I just hope that people read these comments. Even people with bad credit deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Please people, take your business to a dealership who values the customer, not the almighty dollar they can screw you out of.

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
After reading some of the comments on this web site I was worried about buying a car from Vandergriff. I did a lot of research on the web regarding the vehicle I wanted to purchase before I visited any dealer. Maybe I was just lucky, but I had a VERY good salesperson. She was not pushy at all, but she was very knowledgeable about the products and anticipated, as well as answered all my questions. I never felt pressured or rushed. There was a little negotiating, but I told her my top dollar amount right at the beginning. Since I had researched the cost, I knew we were both getting a fair deal. Once we agreed on the cost, I was worried that there would be some last minute changes based on some of the other people's comments, but the price did not change and there were no mistakes. The sales person, sales manager and the business manager were all very careful to make sure that all details were exactly as we had agreed. The car was in perfect condition and they also had another person who went over every function of the car with me before I drove away. Once I decided on the model and trim level, the purchase went very quickly and smoothly. I would highly recommend my salesperson and I have no complaints about Vandergriff Honda at all.

My Review of Vandergriff Honda:
I gave all Metroplex dealers the chance to bid for my business. Vandergriff and Lute Riley remained in contention. When Lute Riley dropped their price I gave Vandergriff a chance to have my business which they accepted and gave me a better offer over the phone. When I arrived they claimed there was a misunderstanding (a lie because I clarified 3 times over the phone) and they held to a higher price. After four hours we finally agreed on a price (Vandergriff had the color I wanted). What I was unhappy about was that they acused me of misrepresenting the truth (sounds like someone was trying to save their job).<br><br>Look out, financing had a couple tricks up their sleeve. Three hours later I had corrected all their mistakes (aka: scams) and was out the door with a new car. These guys were slimy but smiled while doing it so I gave them a higher score for friendliness. Had I not have done my homework I'm sure they would have been ready and willing to screw me.
