My Review of Victory Toyota:
I am a completely dissatisfied customer with the Victory Toyota on Rockaway Tpke in Lawrence. I walked into the dealership & granted, was approached immediately by a salesman as expected. I explained to the salesman that I wanted a vehicle within a $10,000-$15,000 price range to take a loan out on. Needless to say he asked me to come inside, run my credit, etc. to see where that would land me. Once that was all processed, the reaction was equivalant to that of vultures from the salesman, & most especially the manager on duty. They immediately tried to push a vehicle on me that I had told them I wasnt interested in at all, I was given extreme "fast talk" with why "I should consider taking out a larger loan" in general for a more expensive vehicle that "would benefit me". I kindly & REPEATEDLY declined that vehicle. I eventually saw a vehicle that I deceided to consider, they quoted me a price of $19,500. However, I told them that I would like to go home & discuss everything with my 25 yr old son, & my 30 yr old daughter before I make any commitment. Once I informed my son, he found that EXACT vehicle I was interested in advertised on Autotrader.com from THIS SAME dealership for $11,495. We called up & spoke with a secretary who confirmed the internet price, & printed it out for me. I went back up there, & of course the manager was completely displeased with the fact that now he had to sell it for that price. Along with now making us wait for over 45 minutes to process the sale, he pulls out paperwork that the salesman had already completed...for the OTHER vehicle I never agreed to. The manager corrects it, then accepts $1000 deposit on the vehicle that I chose & for the internet price, tells me the car will be ready tomorrow...which never happened. I was put on hold for days with them, I finally receive a call at work from the dealership telling me to come in, I can pick the car up with additional $1000 that the financing company is requiring. I agreed, & waited there for over 3 hours only to find out that they "cant" sell it unless I apply another $4000 towards it. I declined altogether. They then run back onto the lot, & once again wanting to show me other vehicles that I "may be intersted in". I go home instead, research other vehicles, dealers, etc. I find another vehicle from another dealership (much more professional, & respecteable altogether) & opt to go there instead. I bring my credit card back to Victory for a refund of the $1000 I had initially put down, & instead of the manager reversing the sale, he CHARGED another $1000 onto it. Once that was noticed, I immediately questioned him. He says, oh I "made a mistake" then reversed the $2000 & hands me the refund receipt.Once I get home, I call the bank to inquire about the refund, & was told there were no credits pending at all. Not even by the following business day, I once again go back up there to confront the manager he then says the dealership didnt process the transaction yet but "Calm down, it was a mistake, he is entitled to make mistakes, & do I really think he is just trying to get over on me he has a wife at home with cancer"...it is now 3 days later, on a holiday weekend, & Im stuck here still waiting for the transaction to clear with the bank & be returned to my account. I am COMPLETELY dissatisfied with their service, & with how they handle their business. I wouldnt recommend them to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy. The potential risk of dealing with these fast talking crooks is honestly not worth it. Decent car dealerships actually do exist, however Ive had quite enough of an experience with Victory Toyota to say honestly, & wholeheartedly...THEY ARE NOT ONE OF THEM AT ALL!!
