My Review of Viking Dodge:
When I was shopping for my Dodge I had visited several Dodge retailers, and visitors to this sight may notice that I have posted comments about multiple dealers. Because I found this website a good tool with which to share experiences, I want to others to have the benefit of my knowledge so that informed decisions can be made.

Viking Dodge is a traditional high-volume, high-pressure dealer that is bent on making a sale at all costs. I have not had any experience with Viking's used car department, and I have not used its service department. I must concur with the other person who commented about Viking that customers must be very careful when shopping here. The only good things I can say about this dealer is the sales staff are extraordinarily motivated to sell cars, and the dealer's website is pretty informative. I called ahead of time and the salesperson did have the cars I wanted lined up. However, my biggest turn off about this dealer was most of the salespeople were between 19-25. I do feel that salespeople at this dealer are under a lot of pressure to make a sale, and as a result, they can be a bit pushy. Patience is certainly not a virtue practiced by most employees of this dealer, and potential customers must be very firm if they are not prepared to purchase a vehicle. I also noticed that salespeople here were willing to make any promise in order to sell a car. I found it incredible when my salesperson stated that swapping a radio system from one vehicle to another could be done quite easily on the spot when I told him his vehicle did not meet my requirements. If the salesperson makes a promise to you here, then it is critical that you get it in writing and that you get an explicit bill of sale indicating your purchase.

I did not choose this dealer for two reasons. Firstly, it did not have the vehicle I wanted in stock. Secondly, I was suspicious of some of the promises made by this dealer, and I was not convinced they would honour their part of the bargain. Because there are not many Dodge retailers in the Crystal Lake area this dealer may have a captive audience. As with any dealer you should do your research ahead of time and know exactly for what you are looking. If you are an educated consumer and know about the price of the car as well warranty products, then even dealers like Viking will have a hard time pulling the wool over your eyes. If you use this dealer, then at least get one other quote from another place to make sure that this dealer's promise is feasible. My final thought is that if shopping around at multiple Dodge dealers is an option for you, then exercising that option would not be a bad bet.

My Review of Viking Dodge:
I was told by Bill Rose that there was an unadvertised 0% promotion on a 2007 Grand Caravan (this turned out to be adeliberate lie). We agreed to a deal of $400 per month for 72 months at 0%. As we were signing the finance paper work, Bill stated he could not get the the zero percent financeing but he was able to keep the payment at $400 dollars. What he did not tell me was that he changed my payments from 72 month to 84! I did not realize this until after I signed the paper work. I'm now stuck with 4,800 dollars of payments. Beware of deceptive practices at this dealer!
