Update to my review on the engine replacement on my golf R. I was smart this time and took it to my regular mechanic to replace my clutch/flywheel. More than 4 bolts were missing from the trans/diff R. I was smart this time and took it to my regular mechanic to replace my clutch/flywheel. More than 4 bolts were missing from the trans/diff. Volkswagen Reading was the last place to touch my trans when they pulled it to check the clutch/flywheel. Found a broken plug and a lot of other mistakes. For an over $9,000 job it looks like a 5 year old with his first set of tinker toys repaired my car. More

Horrible. Run awayyyyyyy! Over 9k spent on a new motor install. 6 months later the valve cover starts leaking. Called service and I was told it would be 3 hours and over $400 t Over 9k spent on a new motor install. 6 months later the valve cover starts leaking. Called service and I was told it would be 3 hours and over $400 to fix and that it wasn’t covered under the warranty. So I went and fixed it myself for $39 and a free hour of my time (what the gasket cost). ( other shops quoted me $150) Later on I realized there was a bolt missing to a bracket under the motor. Whatever, I threw the bolt in. 2 weeks after all this non covered nonsense, the cam cradle starts leaking oil. Here we go again. Something else that is not covered. When you spend xxxx near 9k on a new motor shipped from Germany. It should be expected that the leaks and minor repairs be covered. They are not. So if you spend money on a motor replacement. Expect to be nickel and dimed on their follow up work. This is possibly the worst Volkswagen repair shop I have ever dealt with. I am no longer dealing with Volkswagen reading and have decided to go back to the place I oringally bought the car. Other issues I noticed. Heat shield had 1 bolt missing. Other minor bolts and such were missing. It was a job done quick and now I’m worried my 9k brand new motor was installed improperly. More

Poor service and unprofessional management.. Three trips to Vw service for same simple problem to find out they can't fix it... 8 hours of our valuable time waste and unprofessional management.. Terrible Service!! For just a basic Brake Job It has been over 2 weeks now and i have gotten the run around and my car is still not fixed. I have spent $1700 on a brake job and to try and get my head lights sanded and cleaedn so that the headlights actually work. I was called over the weekend and was told my car was finished. I came to pick up the car and come to find out the head lights were not finished and there was a horrible sound coming from my breaks. Back in the rental again!!! 3 days later they call me to tell me that my car is finished. Pick up my car with my BF and my 3 kids. Got in the car and notice the parking light sign came strike 1 again?? On the way home same sounds with breaks! Called dealer to let them know i was turning around and on the way back, Breaks gave out and went through a red light!!! Not sure how to handle this as i am now very frustrated and oh right they dont give out refunds?? Anyone know a good lawyer?? I will be researching lawyers tonight before i show up to the dealer in the morning!! More

Excellent Service Department I would like to comment on the excellent experience I have had with the service department at VW Reading. I have had a few issues with my Golf R rece I would like to comment on the excellent experience I have had with the service department at VW Reading. I have had a few issues with my Golf R recently, and every time, I ask for Alex to work on my car, and Molly is always willing to put him on my car with no problems. She is always super nice and accommodating! Alex knows his stuff and always does great work. I love having a dealership that I trust. This last time, Alex actually took two separate road tests with me to make sure he understood what I was saying was wrong with my car. Alex went out of his way on more than one occasion to get to the bottom of my issues and get it resolved. There should be a mechanic like Alex at every dealership. In addition, Josh, the service manager is willing to sit down and talk to you with respect when it comes to an issue you are having. Josh treats you like he values you as a customer and I appreciate that. Thank you Josh, Alex and Molly. I am glad you are there for my wife and me when we need our VW's serviced. More

Great as always Let's be honest. I'm lazy and don't feel like changing my own oil which was the purpose of my most recent trip into the dealership. Honestly, I just d Let's be honest. I'm lazy and don't feel like changing my own oil which was the purpose of my most recent trip into the dealership. Honestly, I just don't want to deal with crawling under the car, dealing with the hot oil, messing with the filter and so on. Just easier to give it to these guys and it's not much more expensive than if I were to do it myself. It's roughly $20 more which, like I said, is worth it. Plus the fact that you get service history which makes it easier if by chance there were some issues. They always get me in when I ask for service. Recently had a wheel bearing go out due to hitting a curb when someone cut me off. They got the car in the same day, replaced the wheel bearing, aligned it and back into my hands by the end of the day. Can't ask for better service. Thumbs up guys! More

They take care of you and your care. Yes people are not fond of dealerships. Well from my experience over the years I don't think I have never dealt with a dealership as nice as Reading V Yes people are not fond of dealerships. Well from my experience over the years I don't think I have never dealt with a dealership as nice as Reading VW. The last two months I have been dealing with an issue with my 2015 Jetta and they have taken care of the car and myself very well. Highly recommend this dealership to everyone I know looking for a VW or just needs service on their VW. More

While stationed near this Reading dealership and needing regular/higher maintenance, I scheduled and recieved service . The individual attention to my specific concerns was outstanding. Jason not only listened patiently as I asked questions, he drove the car with me so I could explain my questions in non technical terms. All answers came via phonecall the same day as promised. The car is still going strong. The experience at Reading service gave me peace of mind---priceless. Thanks Jason and Team. More
