My Review of West Covina Toyota:
It is my first time buying a new car, and I am just a college student without much wealth, so I did a lot of research before I go to the dealership to make sure I get a low price. I found out that Toyota has a college student program that offers a $500 rebate for matrix 2009, and also there is an incentive APR for it. I look up cardirect.com and requested quotes through yahoo auto. I knew that all the sales persons were going to lure me to the door without giving me a specific price, so I ignored all their phone calls and tried to just communicate via emails. At the same time, I went to Longo Toyota to test drive the car and tried to negotiate since my parents bought a truck from them. Their sales person was friendly, but I was pretty disappointed by the price they offered me, and they will only give me a $400 rebate instead of $500. The sales person even told me that if I can find a lower price than their price, I don’t need to go back to them.
Then I turned to West Covina Toyota. Their internet manager Rosie is very patient and detail orientated. I didn’t pick up her call at the first time, and she left me a message telling me all the available models and asked me which one I want. She called me again after I replied her, and she told me a very low price on the phone. The price they offered is few hundred dollars lower than the cardirect.com price, and much lower than what Longo Toyota offered me. I was very happy about the price, and it is closed to the invoice price I found online. She checked the college student program and told me that I can get both of the $500 rebate and the incentive APR since they are two different programs offered by Toyota.
When I was in the dealership for the first time, the sales person Stanley and his manager were very friendly. They suggested me different kinds of insurances but never push me to buy them. The manager gave me a discount on the alarm system, but the price of the car was final. Since they didn’t have the color that I want, I didn’t buy it when I was there the first time. Few days later, they contacted me and told me that they can get the car with the color I want from other place. So I finished the paper work, and I am waiting for my new car now =)
In conclusion, this dealership offers good price and its staff are friendly and honest. They are eager to do business with their customer, so check out this dealership if you want to buy a new Toyota. If you are a recent college graduate and about to graduate within 6 months, make sure you mentioned the college graduate program (just google college program Toyota ) to find out more information. It seemed like not many dealers are familiar with this program.
