My Review of Wilkes-Barre Dodge Inc:
I was in for service, which wasn’t fun because Dodge claims they have a bumper to bumper warranty while many things are not covered. WB Dodge wasted my time in the first place because they knew how many miles were on the truck and what was wrong with it. I got done with work and went to get the truck only to find out they did not fix it because it had over 12,000 miles. My coworkers had been pushing me towards a diesel truck so I figured while I’m here; I might as well look because they were having a sale. The salesman, Jack, lied to me about how much a diesel truck would cost as opposed to a gas powered truck. He pushed me towards a power wagon, which I have always wanted and said that he would give me a good deal on it so we negotiated a price. Both he and Alex told me they knew the previous owner and that the truck was well taken care of. It was a 2006 with only 8,000 miles on it so I did not look it over too closely. When I got into the finance office, the payment had jumped up along with the term of the loan. By this time my plate and all my belongings from my old truck have been transferred to the power wagon. I protested the payment and term saying Jack had told me a shorter term and lower monthly payment amount so Alex got him to explain. Jack simply denied that we had agreed on a lower price and shorter term. Alex then began to lie to me about a new financing program they had to reduce the monthly payment through cash back plus refinancing after a year. This is a scam and not possible unless you have a short loan term and it is extended out by a few years. They do this because research shows most people do not keep their vehicles more than a year so when I found out that my payment would not be reduced; I would be buying another vehicle and not notice it. Yes, I got all of this in writing, but the important thing to remember is the bill of sale supersedes all other documents. Also, even though a vehicle is under warranty, it still may have problems. The transmission whined, a metal rattling sound could be heard driving with the windows down, a power programmer was previously used, and the service 4WD light came on. To make a long story short, after two weeks and the threat of legal action, I was given my old truck back. I called Frank and Jim (the general and sales manager, respectively) almost every day. I finally got a call from Jim, Frank, and George (still no idea who George was) within a few hours stating that it was urgent I call them back and come get my old truck. I am still convinced that I would have been stuck with the power wagon if my father was not also on the title to my old truck. Fortunately for me, they did not have my father sign anything. Please beware of this dealer and all other dealers in the Rosado auto group as they exaggerate promotional offers and most likely operate the same way. For example, I had to sign a form saying I did not want the free spa or pool with my vehicle purchase, and saw the advertisement for a free pool or spa with every vehicle purchase just days later. I have tried to state the facts to the best of my ability. This is not meant to bash WB Dodge in any way. It is a warning for anyone in the market for a new vehicle so they may have a more pleasant, hassle free experience than I did.
