This is the first online review I’ve written and it’s only because of the issues I’ve had with my certified pre-owned vehicle during the first week. As I said, I purchased a certified pre-owned 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Zingg Motors. Zingg completed the Certified Pre-owned Vehicle Inspection Checklist and indicated zero issues. They obviously didn’t even inspect some of the items on the list and simply checked the box indicating that they met quality standards. As I was driving the 50 miles home I noticed that the wiper fluid did not work. Interestingly enough they had check the box on the inspection checklist stating that the windshield wiper system was operational. It turns out that the fluid was frozen so they either watered down the wiper fluid or used the wrong kind. After sitting in a heated garage for two days the wiper fluid began to work but then I noticed that the wipers themselves were in poor condition. Again the inspection checklist indicated that the wiper blades were in good condition. Immediately I was concerned with the inaccuracy of the checklist and began a more thorough review. Perhaps most alarming was the fact that the tires were inflated to between 50-60 PSI when the specs listed 33 PSI. Not only did the checklist indicate that the tire pressures are set to specifications but the level was dangerously high. Continuing with my inspection I noticed that the rear liftgate glass wouldn’t open when the button was pressed. My brother is a mechanic so I had him take a look. We could tell someone already pulled off the back panel and once inside we saw that the plug was disconnected and the plastic securing the connection was broken. We also noticed a bolt that was chipped free and made to look like it was in place. We were able to fix the issue by simply plugging it back in and taping it secure but it’s interesting that the checklist indicated that the Door/liftgate/trunk met the standards. As if that wasn’t enough, a few days later the Oil Change Due light came on. They also didn’t include the driver side floor mat which apparently meets the standards as indicated on the checklist. I talked with the service manager with no resolution and have been awaiting a call from their sales manager for two days and counting. If you do buy a car here, which I wouldn't recommend, make sure to thoroughly check every part of the car, inside and out, and double check each item on the inspection checklist if buying a certified vehicle. I had the opportunity to speak with their General Manager and discussed each issue in detail. After the discussion it was determined that the best course of action would be for Zingg to service my vehicle. Since Zingg is 50 miles away from me they were more than accommodating and picked up the Jeep, left me with a vehicle to use, and returned my Jeep with the same amount of gas. They conducted another complete inspection, resolved all of the issues, and even noticed that the Jeep had the capability for a push button start and installed one free of charge. I feel confident that they have addressed each issue to my satisfaction and went above and beyond my expectations.
