What Others Say
I had a very disappointing experience with Timmons Subaru and ultimately decided to walk away because the trust was gone.
We came in specifically for a vehicle advertised online for approximately $28,495. We test drove the vehicle and sat down with salesperson Matt to discuss financing and trade-in options. Early in the conversation, Matt asked whether we already had financing in place, and we explained that we were pre-approved through our bank at a 3.25% interest rate, so financing was already secured on our end.
When discussing our trade-in, Matt initially stated they would offer around $2,500. We explained we already had a separate certificate offer worth $3,500 elsewhere, and to his credit, he did increase the trade-in amount to match it.
However, while we were sitting there waiting on trade-in numbers and continuing the purchase discussion, Matt later returned and told us the original vehicle had supposedly been sold “out from under him” by another salesperson to another customer.
Almost immediately afterward, we were directed toward another similar vehicle priced around $32,495 — roughly $4,000 higher before taxes and fees. We were then told management would “help” by adjusting the trade-in value to offset part of the increase.
At that point, the issue was no longer just about pricing. The trust had already been broken. Spending time negotiating for one vehicle, only to suddenly be told it was no longer available while being redirected to a significantly more expensive option, made the entire experience feel misleading.
After leaving, I searched online reviews and found multiple customers describing very similar experiences involving pricing changes, vehicle availability issues, and sales tactics that created confusion and distrust.
Whether intentional or not, the experience felt very similar to a bait-and-switch situation. Customers deserve transparency and honesty from the beginning, especially after investing time at a dealership negotiating in good faith.
Buyers beware of this dealership. Unfortunately, I’ve had the worst experience with Sabri internet sales manager. Beware that he will pull a bait and switch on you. I went to the dealer test drove the car. He told me he would beat the price I got from another dealer. The following day he tells me they actually increased the price by 3k more than what he promised. I’m a huge Subaru fan. I
own one, but since this experience. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.i don’t think i will be buying another Subaru. I hope Subaru holds a better standards on how they regulate these dishonest salesmen/dealership.
Excellent service on an online purchase and the car (Subaru certified 2023 Crosstrek) was just as described. All of my interactions with the salesman Robert and staff were excellent and when there was a small problem (the car was missing one of the keys and fob) they quickly came up with a solution that was completely acceptable. Obviously when you buy a car online and fly a thousand miles to pick it up you're nervous but it couldn't have gone any better!
I recently had the worst experience with the Service Department due to the incompetence of the technicians. I am sure that the usual response will be “we’re sorry for your bad experience,” but this isn’t about apologies—it’s about doing things right. I feel compelled to recommend the Sales Department instead, as they know how to do their job properly.
Everything was great until we got to the financing part. I connected with Timmons through Costco and I had done my research of interest rates and such so I knew about what I should have been offered. The Costco discount on the car was $3,000.
Interestingly enough, come time to do the financing, the interest rate that they started at was 3% higher than the market rate (and I do not have bad credit) which coincidentally would have added $3,000 back to the cost of the car.
After playing this game, all of a sudden they were able to drop that rate three percentage points back to the going market rate.
This left a bad taste with me and I know that I will never buy from this dealer again. Whether or not I will ever buy another Subaru again is still up for debate. The car itself is fine but I am not enjoying the car, and it is because of the financing experience.
Best agent ever i had encounter . Thanks henry for making car purchasing easy for new immigrant like me.
