Service and Purchased Used Car - TK
I have been a customer for 9 years, I have been very happy with the service. Excellent customer service, availability and results. I just bought a used car from GB Motorcars as well. When there was an issue that was found within a few days, they went out of their way to make sure it was fully addressed and repaired and that I was satisfied with the results.
Incredibly helpful and upbeat - Nickleboeuf
I was in a very tough spot over the last week. Our car was stolen and we were lost. Went into key auto Portsmouth and met Matty V and he more then helped us get into something cost effective and with everything and more we could ever ask for. If you are looking for a car and don't wanna be pushed around but actually helped and treated like an equal this is the place for you. I absolutely plan on going here again for my next car and will send anyone I know looking for a car their way.
Great car buying experience ! - James
Got a super deal on a 2011 Ram 1500 Hemi. Brian and Rob were so low pressure. Never thought busing a truck would be so easy. They were so kind and helpful. Would recommend this place looking for anyone looking for a car or truck. Thank you Rob and Brian again for the super deal.
Very pleased and satisfied - ChrisandElizabeth
Excellent experience with Derek and Jeff. No false promises, no pressure and two real professionals. I had been car shopping since the beginning of June, so to have such a pleasant experience at the end of August after many fair to extremely disappointing experiences was a real pleasure. I will consult with Derek first the next time I am in the market.

Extremely pleased - Bob I
We are extremely happy with the service we received. Mark was very helpful and patient with us while we rest drove a number of cars and made a decision. They were able to get us financing with a good payment even though other dealerships couldn't. We will definitely be back for another purchase.

Prompt, Competent, and Solution Orientated - Prism37
I recently brought my vehicle in for a routine NH State inspection. Not only was Service Manager, Joe Swan, competent, he was also personable, knowledgeable, and the epitome of what great customer is all about. He explained the needs of my vehicle in a clear and concise manner. Thank you for the outstanding service Joe!
Pretty Darn Happy - Marilyn J Judson
We were looking for a reliable yet cheap car and Steve stepped up to the plate with Personable, yet honest feedback on the car. He got us into a 2003 Honda Accord for great $$ and I feel confident it will be a Great Car. Thanks Steve and Scott!
Rude and difficult to deal with - Drew92
Made the two hour drive twice to look at a truck and was unsuccessful both times. They didn't have the truck accessible either time. Very rude and anything but helpful in arranging a time to have it available. Seems like these guys push their customers around at any opportunity. Took a moment to look at the other inventory and noticed that all they sell are a couple dozen polished turds. Not worth the effort. There's many other dealers in Plaistow area. Visit them instead.
Great experience, don't buy the terrible extended warranty - Tristan
I worked with Anthony in the "Gonic" location on 125 to buy an Audi S5. The car was in good shape, small rust spot on trunk not seen until after purchase. Anthony was quick and helpful getting my finance done, and getting me into the car. I was dumb, and opted for the extended warranty. DO NOT TAKE THIS WARRANTY!!!!! It is through First Extended Service Corporation. Crazy expensive, and I am trying to deal with an issue now, it has been 2 weeks and 5 hours since I first dropped it off at the Euro shop. The shop put the claim in the same day I dropped it off. I have made 8 phone calls to the warranty company. Every single person who answers the phone are beyond rude. Put you on hold, hand up on you, send you to voicemail boxes that you never hear back from. It has been a complete run around, all because they have already been paid, and do not want to pay out. They basically string you along hoping you just give up. I'm in sales, and sell extended warranties, never have I had a customer have this kind of trouble. I have read my contract over, and spoken to the shop, as the warranty company claimed they had to send an adjuster out to see the issue themselves, and the parts are all covered in the contract, yet here I sit, without a car....still. I have made some calls to the dealer, I have had so-so help from them. Called yesterday to talk with Anthony, the manager, for him to call up the warranty company on my behalf. He was tied up according to the young lady who answered the phone. He never called me back, and today is his day off. Knowing a customer had a problem, I would think they would want to get in touch with them faster than 2 days later.
Good sales, terrible service - Ilya P
It is hard to write this review. There are two distinct and polar opposite sides to this "dealership".
I will list details of my ordeal with them below, but in summary:
Good sales customer care.
Total technical incompetence (ether deceiving you or just do not know) - so do not believe a word they are saying for the condition of the car!
Dealership got lucky to acquire a very sought after car and people all over US wanted to buy it. I was the first and gave them deposit. I am 1500 miles away and was planning to fly in and drive it back. Thus, I really needed to know truth about car condition and asked many questions about it.
Salesperson - Jen could not be nicer. She patiently responded to my many questions. But unfortunately, none of the technical answers she got from the service department were true. I do not know whether they deliberately misled me or they are just totally incompetent technically (I am leaning towards former).
Asked about clutch, was told that it is perfect. Clutch was all worn and pedal required huge effort to press.
Asked about tires - was told almost new - were 4/32nds.
Asked about other issues - was told car is in amazing condition with no issues - power steering pump was dying....
Dealership was very nice to offer to do timing belt, which was due. They also replaced the battery and did the breaks. Again - great service on the surface, great intentions. Unfortunately to me they do not have technical abilities to do even the simplest job - breaks, let alone timing belt!
The fact that when I picked up the car it had no coolant and my brake fluid was low should have been a warning sigh to me.
Issues caused by the incompetent timing belt job were the worst:
1. When putting back the cooling fans, they dropped one mounting bolt into the channel on the bottom of the radiator, thus did not properly secure fans to the radiator (they did not replace the dropped bolt, just left fans secured by why was left). instead of being supported by the bottom, fans were suspended by the top.
As a result, on the way home radiator cracked under the weight of the fans causing total failure 400 miles from home!
After towing the car back, I contacted the dealer and they were "nice enough" to reimburse me for part of the towing, car rental and new radiator.
2. When putting timing belt, they did not use any gap tools (included with the timing kit) and pressed the guide into the timing belt. As a result, timing belt was totally destroyed within 10K miles. We luckily discovered it by chance. At the best estimate, timing belt has 2K left. The car has interference engine and if belt failed, the car would have needed new engine!
This time dealership totally, rudely, and flatly refused to reimburse me for the parts needed to do the job. I contacted BBB but they could not help either. I only requested reimbursement for parts, which I thought was very reasonable.
3. Breaks made it home! But dealership used the cheapest parts possible and did not adjust them at all, so they were rattling and scraping all the way and required service when car was running again.
4. Even oil filter was leaking!!
If you have service need: Run away from them!
If they did any repairs or service on the car you are buying - go somewhere else or plan to redo the job as soon as possible. Do not believe any information they give you, verify everything!
If you are just buying the car - sales stuff is caring and nice (still check the car!).
Overall the repairs caused by the dealership “service” (radiator, towing, rental, timing job) were around $2,000. On top of that new power steering pump and new clutch (both supposedly in excellent condition) required another $2,000. Tires were another $800.
Dealer reimbursed me $800 for the radiator.
So, the “excellent condition – drive ready” car cost me extra unexpected $4,000.
My experience has been positive - Dave
I have purchased two used vehicles from C.J.'s.
Used vehicles, heck brand new vehicles, are all man made creations and therefore it may naturally be assumed that they are inferior from the start. Used vehicles, it should go without saying, will continuously need some sort of service and repair, pretty much ongoing. If you get yourself a vehicle that requires little maintenance each year, you can count your self very lucky! Maintenance free automobiles, are a rarity!
Most of the time I have brought my vehicles back to C.J.'s, and nearly always any issue I have had, has been remedied. Yes, once in awhile, an attempted fix made need a little more tweaking, but rarely.
As a person who has been on a very tight budget for a long time, I have always found the Proprietors at C.J'S, have been very helpful in giving me solutions and ideas that work within my budget. I am appreciative of that thoughtfulness on their part. Trust me, I have been royally screwed over in my lifetime, by Garages, Shops, and Mechanics, who took me for a sucker. I have spent sums of money I didn't need to. Yes, we all need to be careful who we deal with, yet I think if you are considering purchasing a vehicle or need to have your vehicle serviced after purchase, through C.J.'s, you should be fine. Act like a spaz, be an idiot, make absurd demands, swear and cuss, be impatient, be a snot nose, and be all defensive when such a posture is overkill, then expect bad service in return from anyone, let alone C.J's.
If you are one writing a negative review, and if you are a person telling others to steer clear of C.J.'s auto village, then I have to wonder just what sort of personality and psychology you present to all your fellow beings, that you encounter. Are you going into a relationship with this Dealership, looking for a fight? Do you have a nasty attitude going in, if so, then no wonder, you have a problem with this Dealership.
If you want a good experience, and act like a mature adult, I would bet you will have a decent experience, if you choose to transact with C.J.'S Auto Village. Business owners are human like yourselves. Yes, they choose to deal with the general public of humans by the nature of their business. What sort of person you are, to deal with, says it all, when it comes to the nature of the relationship or experience, you have at C.J.'s. As for myself, my experience has been primarily positive. I do not see any signage or commercials or anything that tells you, that this Dealership is going to treat you like a King or Queen, that you imagine yourself to be. Get real, you are simply a potential Customer. You will be granted a no frills transaction. Behave yourself and maybe you will EARN(not automatic) the status of a "Valued Customer", a mutual respect and understanding will then develop. Basic, right?
Worst dealership!!! - Mshunney90
I have never dealt with such a shady company in my life. I should've read all the reviews before purchasing my car. I purchased a car that is 3 years old, not even 30 days ago and have had NOTHING but issues since.
Every time I call for someone they aren't in and no one is else can help me! It's been nothing but issues. Their customer service is awful.
I was told things were fixed and I brought to my local garage and they WEREN'T fixed!
This company is extremely shady! I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy! Do NOT do business with them!
CROOKS!!! - scottishlady
never buy a car here you do not even get out of the lot and there are issues. This car can not pass inspection and they guarantee the car will pass inspection. They at 556 auto sales refuse to answer calls and do not stand by their written word. they are crooks stay away!!!
Terrible - vinmunster
I found the truck perfect truck for me. I have been looking for a few months. I live almost 4 hours away, in Maine. I dealt online with one of the sales people. The truck I wanted was listed for $39,995, and it books for only $36,000. I understand starting high, to try to get book value out of a vehicle, I have no problem, with that. I asked for a price, and the quoted me $37,500. OK... Fine. They are still asking far too much for the truck, but maybe it's because they are worried that I am going to try to trade in some junk that they have to show me more money for than it's worth. So, I ask if they can give me an idea of what they would give me for my truck. They tell me they certainly can, if I provide pictures and the VIN. So, I did. 4 days later, nothing, another day goes by and I tell them I really need to know what they can do for me, so I can make plans to drive to NH on my only day off of the week. Still, nothing. So, I submit another internet lead and ask what the delay is. One of the Owners, Bob, replies back and says he doesn't know what I am talking about, because there is a log of e-mails back and forth between the sales person and myself. I said yes, but he told me he would get me an estimate on my trade, and never has. Bob then replies "we are not just going to throw a number out there, it's time to call us or stop by with the trade, we have gone as far as we can with emails" Just like that. No proper grammar or anything. So, I replied that it was very disappointing that I was told six days prior that they could give me a figure, and it wouldn't be a problem. I explain I buy a truck every 18-24 months (which is no exaggeration, though it's closer to every year). So, then a different owner, Mike, replies "Hi Mike your trade is a little too new for us. Thank you for your time" I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado Z71 Crew Cab. They have two 2013s available for sale, as well as a 2015. Terrible customer service! Also, never in the last 18 years and 16 cars I've had, have I ever been told I can't get a reasonable estimate over the phone or online. I even told them about the small things like it will need new tires, and has a small dent. I was up front and honest with them. That's all I asked for from them, and they couldn't deliver.
GREAT TRUCK...COULDN'T BE HAPPIER - Joey2014
I recently needed to get a new truck, I didn't want to go through another winter in my current one. Being someone with "not so great credit" the process of shopping and getting the truck I want can be pretty tricky. I did some searching online and came across a bunch of nice trucks and called the dealership. The owner Bob answered and was really nice and told me about all the different trucks. I told him I had a credit problem and he let me know they specialize in finance and would be able to help . When I got there Bob greeted me and brought me out and had the truck I was interested in sitting near the door. He let me take it for a test drive by myself. I took it for a test drive and really liked it. I got back and expected the finance aspect of the sale to be difficult. Bob worked with me and helped me get a loan which was a lot better than I expected. I am really happy that I chose this dealership to go to. I got the truck I wanted and a loan better than I expected. I would and have already recommended this dealership to my friends.
